Do you enjoy working with data – building reliable foundations and turning complex information into clear insights? At Implement Consulting Group, we're looking for a Student Data Engineer to join our internal team and help develop our data platforms and analytics capabilities further. What you’ll do It's a hands-on opportunity for a curious, motivated student who wants to work with data, systems, and business challenges – and to grow into data engineering alongside experienced colleagues. You’ll support the development and maintenance of our internal data foundation – helping ensure that data across Implement is structured, reliable, and accessible for analysis and decision-making. Your work will include, but not be limited to: Transforming and preparing data for analytics and reporting using SQL and Python Helping develop, maintain, and optimise our data pipelines Contributing to data modelling and structuring of datasets Working with tools such as Power BI and modern data platforms Collaborating with colleagues across teams to understand data needs and ensure quality The role sits at the intersection of data engineering and analytics , working with data from multiple source systems. You’ll work closely with experienced data engineers and consultants in a team where learning, sparring, and quality come first. What you’ll bring We’re looking for someone who is structured, curious, and motivated to learn. You take ownership of your tasks, ask questions when needed, and enjoy working with data. You bring: A solid foundation in SQL, including querying, transforming, and validating data Experience with Power BI or similar analytics tools A basic understanding of ETL/ELT processes Familiarity with data modelling concepts, such as star schemas, fact tables, and dimension tables A willingness to learn new tools and technologies quickly Basic experience with Python for data ingestion and/or processing It is also an advantage if you have: Experience with cloud data platforms such as Azure, Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, or Snowflake Knowledge of data orchestration tools such as Azure Data Factory, Fabric Pipelines, Airflow, or dbt Experience with Git or version control tools A basic understanding of APIs, JSON, and data integration What we offer At Implement, you’ll be part of a collaborative and ambitious environment where we take both learning and quality seriously. That number is real. WorkMundi's database shows 144,883 open engineer roles across the world. India has the most with 31,687 jobs, followed by the United States with 30,084. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.
Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.
When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
