Job Summary Iron Mountain is seeking a dynamic and experienced AI Engineer to join our Operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and deploying production-ready Machine Learning models and Artificial Intelligence agents that optimize complex logistics workflows and drive measurable cost reductions. You will join a high-impact team dedicated to bridging the gap between operational business challenges and scalable technical solutions, directly influencing our supply chain and field operations. What You’ll Do In this role, you will: Develop End-to-End AI Solutions: Design, build, and monitor production-ready Machine Learning models and automated agents to streamline multi-step operational decision-making. Optimize Operational Workflows: Collaborate with Finance, Facilities, and Information Technology teams to build robust Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) pipelines and integrate predictive tools into existing warehouse and logistics software. Govern AI Safety and Compliance: Ensure the responsible deployment of all systems by performing rigorous model validation, maintaining strict data governance, and mitigating risk or bias in automated decisions. What You’ll Bring The ideal candidate will have: 5+ years of applied experience in Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning engineering or advanced analytics, preferably within logistics, supply chain, or transportation industries. Advanced technical expertise in Python and SQL, with proven experience scaling "agentic" workflows and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions using platforms like LangChain or n8n. Proven ability in strategic problem-solving and rapid prototyping, with the communication skills necessary to explain complex model outputs to non-technical business leaders. A Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or Mathematics. United States Citizenship is required. That number is real. WorkMundi's database shows 144,883 open engineer roles across the world. India has the most with 31,687 jobs, followed by the United States with 30,084. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.
Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.
When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
