Location The Accountant will work at Rosedale, Auckland, NZ. We operate a hybrid working model with (currently) Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays being in-office days. Work-from-home days (subject to change as determined per Teletrac Navman requirements) may be performed anywhere in New Zealand. Job Overview This role will help the Finance Team look after Teletrac Navman’s New Zealand and Australian operations. As well as focusing on month-end, financial reporting, and the General Ledger, this role will also take on tax reporting preparations for our Australian/New Zealand business assisting with audit/ management reporting as well as ad hoc projects. We are undergoing a process improvement project currently and there remain significant numbers of very manual Excel-based processes at present. A big part of the role will be to assess and improve legacy processes, especially regarding month-end accounting processes. Responsibilities and Duties Contribute as a member of the Finance Team with financial and management accounting for Teletrac Navman ANZ. Key deliverables: month-end close, twice monthly forecast, weekly ACV reporting (annual contract value of our region’s sales), VAT/BAS/GST/FBT calculations. Acting as a custodian of the General Ledger, ensuring appropriate account usage and that all journal entries are correct and supported by appropriate documents. Assist the Team with all aspects of bookkeeping and financial reporting for the Australasia region, ensuring timeliness and accuracy of each monthly close. Critically assess numbers and results and develop an understanding of their accounting and business impact. Strive for and implement process improvements – work smarter not harder. Provide ad hoc accounting and analysis support, as required, including reconciliations. Guide within the team and the wider business on accounting and finance, as a member of the ANZ Finance team. Required Skills / Qualifications Chartered Accountant / CPA / equivalent with minimum 5 years PQE Month end close experience including significant journal posting experience SAP, Oracle or experience with another big ERP software Strong analytical skills including advanced user of Microsoft Excel (including sumifs, index/lookups, pivot tables – automation of reports) Personal organisational skills Initiative – self managed, able to act independently where circumstances dictate Reliable and deadline orientated Duty Technical knowledge of NZ OR AU tax or compliance would be extremely beneficial. SAP, Oracle, or experience with another big ERP software High level of accuracy and attention to detail Reliable and deadline-orientated Team player, able to work towards common goals and willing to support others in the team.
