The accountant is also responsible for completing other tasks assigned to support the day-to-day operations of the Accounting Department. Provide general accounting support across the spectrum of accounting functions as directed with the aim of ensuring accounting activities and associated financial information is timely, accurate, and readily available to support key business decisions. Job Duties Reconcile multiple cash accounts Prepare journal entries, monitor and analyze general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy Reconcile and monitor various asset, liability, revenue, and expense accounts Assist with month end close procedures and reports Preparation of information and reports requested for annual audit Special projects as assigned by Management Maintain work instructions and procedures for all tasks Identify continuous improvement opportunities Complete other duties as assigned Provide and participate in cross-training as needed Requirements Bachelor’s degree in accounting 5+ years of experience, with specific exposure to general ledger maintenance Must have knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles Professional level experience with Excel to compile and present data Experience with Oracle software (preferred) Competencies Communication proficiency, organizational skills, and written skills Detail oriented, ability to multi-task with adherence to deadlines Must be a dedicated team player with the willingness and desire to learn and grow within the organization Must be a highly self-motivated individual with the ability to function in a fast-paced environment with limited supervision and direction Microsoft Office Suite Benefits: R+L Carriers offers an excellent compensation and comprehensive benefits package that includes Medical/Dental/Vision Insurance, 401(k) Retirement Plan with company matching contributions, Paid Vacation & Holidays, and vacation lodging at our exclusive employee resorts in Daytona Beach, FL, Big Bear Lake, CA, Pigeon Forge, TN, and Ocean Isle Beach, NC.
