In this role, you will play a key part in the FW test automation project, developing and leading automated test solutions across the embedded firmware lifecycle in close collaboration with global engineering teams. Your responsibilities will be:\ Design, develop, and maintain automated firmware tests for UPS and CPS product lines. Own firmware test planning, including creation and execution of structured test plans for product features. Define and implement test strategies to verify system, power, and product requirements. Lead firmware testing activities and contribute to functional and design reviews throughout the development lifecycle. Integrate firmware tests into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous testing and early defect detection. Analyze test results, investigate failures, and drive root cause analysis together with firmware and system engineers. Document test solutions, results, and releases in accordance with company quality and compliance processes. Act as a technical test expert within the project team, supporting task prioritization and technical decision‑making. Continuously improve testing practices by applying modern embedded software testing tools and methodologies. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with 8+ years of relevant industry experience OR Master’s degree in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with 5+ years of relevant industry experience Skills Strong experience in firmware test design and test infrastructure development for complex embedded systems. Hands‑on experience developing automated test solutions using frameworks such as Robot Framework and Python. Experience with test‑driven development or similar quality‑focused development approaches. Solid knowledge of version control systems (Git). Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines. Strong debugging and problem‑solving skills for embedded and system‑level issues. Experience with embedded software development or testing using C/C++ and Python. Practical experience using laboratory equipment (e.g. oscilloscopes, multimeters). Ability to work safely in a high‑voltage laboratory environment. Experience working in Agile development environments (e.g. Scrum). Self‑driven, detail‑oriented team player with strong ownership and communication skills. Fluent written and spoken English. When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
