Senior Data Engineer – Snowflake / Azure A leading Investment Management firm in Qatar is building out a new Data & AI function, and they're looking for a Senior Data Engineer with excellent Azure and Snowflake experience to join on a permanent basis. You'll sit alongside Data Scientists and Data Modellers, helping run and evolve their cloud Data Warehouse, laying the foundations for modern AI capabilities and playing a key role as the business goes through a major period of data transformation. What you'll be doing: Building scalable, secure cloud data solutions to be leveraged across the organisation including Investment, Risk, Finance and Operational teams Managing and improving the cloud Data Warehouse (Azure, Snowflake) Designing and deploying data pipelines that support advanced analytics, Machine Learning, and GenAI development Acting as a go-to voice on tech strategy - helping the business adopt ML and GenAI capabilities effectively What you'll bring: 5+ years in cloud data engineering with Azure, including hands-on experience building and maintaining cloud Data Warehouses 2+ years working with Snowflake (configuration, deployment, maintenance) Strong commercial Python experience (scikit-learn, pandas, numpy, etc.) (Preferably) Exposure to relevant AI capabilities such as Snowflake Cortex AI and Azure AI Foundry If you feel your experience is a fit with the above role, please apply with an up-to-date CV in the first instance Please note: Candidates MUST be willing to relocate to the Middle East full-time in order to be considered

If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.

Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.

Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.

When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
