Deine Rolle Als AI Infrastructure Engineer betreibst, optimierst und entwickelst du unsere vollständig on-premise betriebene AI-Infrastruktur weiter. Aufgrund unseres Tätigkeitsfelds in einem sicherheitskritischen Umfeld setzen wir bewusst auf No Cloud , Open Source First und lokal betriebene Modelle. Du arbeitest mit unserem eigenen AI-Cluster, GPU-basierten Systemen, containerisierten Modellen sowie modernen Inferenz- und Integrationslösungen. Dein Fokus liegt auf Performance, Verfügbarkeit, Stabilität, Automatisierung und Monitoring. Gleichzeitig evaluierst du neue Modelle und Technologien und sorgst dafür, dass geeignete AI-Funktionen zuverlässig in interne Tools, Entwicklungsprozesse und Unternehmensanwendungen integriert werden können. Dabei geht es nicht um reines Prompting oder Research. Wir suchen eine technisch versierte Persönlichkeit, die AI-Systeme produktiv betreiben, Modelle fundiert beurteilen und neue Technologien pragmatisch in eine robuste und sichere Betriebsumgebung überführen kann. Anforderungen Das bringst du mit Aus- und Weiterbildung: Du verfügst über eine Ausbildung oder ein Studium im Bereich Informatik, Software Engineering, Data Science, Machine Learning oder eine vergleichbare Qualifikation durch praktische Erfahrung. Berufserfahrung: Du bringst fundierte praktische Erfahrung mit AI-Systemen, Large Language Models oder vergleichbaren Machine-Learning-Anwendungen mit und hast bereits lokale oder selbst gehostete Modelle produktiv eingesetzt. Technisches Verständnis: Du verstehst Linux-basierte und containerisierte AI-Umgebungen, GPU-Workloads sowie zentrale Konzepte wie Inferenz, Kontextlängen, Quantisierung, Modellparameter, Latenz und Ressourcenverbrauch. Zudem bist du mit APIs und der Integration von AI-Diensten in bestehende Anwendungen vertraut. Organisationstalent: Du kannst unterschiedliche Modelle, Infrastrukturkomponenten, Tests und technische Abhängigkeiten strukturiert koordinieren und behältst auch bei sich schnell entwickelnden Technologien den Überblick. Qualitätsbewusstsein: Du beurteilst Modelle und Infrastruktur nicht nur nach ihrer Funktionalität, sondern auch hinsichtlich Stabilität, Performance, Wartbarkeit, Datenschutz und Security und legst Wert auf reproduzierbare und nachvollziehbare Ergebnisse. Due to our growth and to strengthen our team, we are looking for an experienced professional as an AI Infrastructure Engineer . Your Role As an AI Infrastructure Engineer, you will operate, optimise and further develop our fully on-premise AI infrastructure. Given our field of activity in a security-critical environment, we deliberately rely on No Cloud , Open Source First and locally operated models. You will work with our own AI cluster, GPU-based systems, containerised models as well as modern inference and integration solutions. Your focus is on performance, availability, stability, automation and monitoring. At the same time, you evaluate new models and technologies and ensure that suitable AI functions can be reliably integrated into internal tools, development processes and enterprise applications. This is not about pure prompting or research. We are looking for a technically savvy person who can productively operate AI systems, thoroughly assess models and pragmatically transfer new technologies into a robust and secure operating environment. Requirements Who are we looking for Education and Training: You have a degree or completed studies in computer science, software engineering, data science, machine learning or a comparable qualification through practical experience. Professional Experience: You have sound practical experience with AI systems, large language models or comparable machine learning applications and have already productively used local or self-hosted models. Technical Understanding: You understand Linux-based and containerised AI environments, GPU workloads as well as key concepts such as inference, context length, quantisation, model parameters, latency and resource consumption. You are also familiar with APIs and the integration of AI services into existing applications. Organisational Skills: You can structure and coordinate different models, infrastructure components, tests and technical dependencies and keep an overview even with rapidly evolving technologies. Quality Awareness: You assess models and infrastructure not only for functionality but also for stability, performance, maintainability, data protection and security, and value reproducible and traceable results. Pragmatic Approach: You enjoy trying out new technologies, critically evaluate their actual benefits and systematically transfer suitable solutions into robust productive operation. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.
Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.
When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
