Node.js Developer Company: HackerKernel Position: Node.js Developer Experience: 3–4 Years Location: Bhopal – IT Park Work Mode: Work From Office Salary: Up to ₹45,000 per month Employment Type: Full-Time About HackerKernel HackerKernel is an IT software services company focused on building scalable web and mobile applications for clients across different industries. We are looking for an experienced Node.js Developer who can independently develop reliable backend systems and work closely with frontend, QA, and other technical teams. Job Summary We are looking for a Node.js Developer with 3–4 years of hands-on experience in backend development. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Node.js, REST API development, databases, authentication, debugging, and production-level application development. Experience with TypeScript, Express.js/NestJS, Docker, Redis, cloud deployment, and API security will be an advantage. Current Node.js backend roles commonly emphasize REST APIs, database design, authentication, Git, Docker/cloud exposure, and production troubleshooting. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Node.js. Build and maintain secure, high-performance RESTful APIs for web and mobile applications. Develop backend modules using Express.js and/or NestJS. Work with MongoDB, MySQL, and/or PostgreSQL for database design and optimization. Implement authentication and authorization using JWT, OAuth, or similar mechanisms. Integrate third-party APIs, payment gateways, notification services, and external platforms. Write clean, reusable, maintainable, and well-documented code. Handle asynchronous programming, promises, callbacks, and event-driven architecture effectively. Identify and resolve bugs, performance issues, and production-level problems. Optimize API response time, database queries, and overall application performance. Work with Git/GitHub for version control, branching, pull requests, and code reviews. Collaborate with frontend developers, QA engineers, project managers, and other teams. Participate in technical discussions, code reviews, and architecture decisions. Support application deployment and troubleshooting in development, staging, and production environments. Follow secure coding practices and maintain application reliability. Required Skills Must Have 3–4 years of professional experience in Node.js backend development. Strong knowledge of Node.js and JavaScript (ES6+). Hands-on experience with Express.js and/or NestJS. Strong experience in developing REST APIs. Good understanding of async/await, Promises, callbacks, event loop, and asynchronous programming. Strong knowledge of at least one database: MongoDB PostgreSQL MySQL Experience with Mongoose, Prisma, Sequelize, TypeORM, or similar ORM/ODM tools. Knowledge of JWT, OAuth, authentication, authorization, and API security. Good understanding of database design, indexing, queries, and optimization. Strong knowledge of Git and GitHub/GitLab. Good debugging and problem-solving skills. Ability to understand existing codebases and independently develop new features. Good to Have Strong hands-on experience with TypeScript. Experience with NestJS and modular backend architecture. NestJS is built around TypeScript and Node.js and emphasizes scalable, maintainable application architecture. (NestJS Docs) Experience with Redis for caching/session management. Knowledge of WebSockets / Socket.IO. Experience with Docker and Docker Compose. Basic knowledge of AWS or other cloud platforms. Understanding of CI/CD pipelines. Experience with microservices architecture. Experience with RabbitMQ, Kafka, BullMQ, or other queue systems. Familiarity with Swagger/OpenAPI for API documentation. Experience writing automated tests using Jest, Mocha, or similar frameworks. Knowledge of Linux server environments and deployment. Exposure to AI API integrations / third-party AI services is an added advantage. These additional skills are increasingly appearing in current Node.js backend roles, particularly TypeScript, NestJS, Redis, Docker, queues, WebSockets, testing, CI/CD, and cloud deployment.
