ABOUT THE ROLE We are seeking a detail-oriented, organized, and dependable Human Resources Generalist to join our growing HR team in a fully remote capacity. The HR Generalist is responsible for the day-to-day execution and administration of key HR processes across the employee lifecycle. This role will independently own core operational functions, including payroll and time and attendance oversight, onboarding and offboarding, compliance tracking, employee records, HR systems administration, and learning management coordination. Working closely with the Human Resources Director and Human Resources Business Partner, the HR Generalist will execute established HR processes, assigned projects, and department initiatives accurately and efficiently. The Human Resources Director and Human Resources Business Partner provide overarching direction, guidance, and support, while the HR Generalist is responsible for independently executing and managing assigned HR processes and responsibilities. The HR Generalist will also serve as a primary point of contact for employees regarding routine HR and policy-related questions, providing guidance based on established company policies and procedures and escalating complex, sensitive, or policy interpretation matters to the Human Resources Director or Human Resources Business Partner. RESPONSIBILITIES: PAYROLL & TIME AND ATTENDANCE • Own the recurring payroll process within Paychex Flex, ensuring payroll is processed accurately and timely. • Own and maintain employee time and attendance records within the Paychex platform. • Review timekeeping information, identify discrepancies, and coordinate corrections as needed. • Maintain accurate employee payroll and compensation information within the HRIS. • Serve as a primary point of contact for routine employee payroll and timekeeping questions. • Coordinate with the Human Resources Director, HR Business Partner, Finance, and Paychex as needed to resolve payroll-related issues. ONBOARDING & OFFBOARDING • Own the day-to-day onboarding process from offer acceptance through completion of required onboarding activities. • Coordinate new hire paperwork, HRIS setup, system access, required documentation, and onboarding requirements. • Ensure new hire information is entered accurately and timely within Paychex and other applicable systems. • Coordinate onboarding logistics and required training assignments. • Own the administrative offboarding process, including termination documentation, system updates, final paperwork, and coordination of access deactivation. • Maintain accurate and timely employee status changes throughout the employee lifecycle. • Partner with the Human Resources Director and HR Business Partner to ensure a consistent and positive employee experience. HR COMPLIANCE & POLICY ADMINISTRATION • Own day-to-day compliance tracking and administrative requirements across the organization. • Maintain compliance-related records, reports, deadlines, and documentation. • Support the administration and tracking of required employment documentation. • Serve as a first point of contact for routine employee questions regarding HR policies and procedures. • Provide employees with guidance based on established company policies, procedures, and HR practices. • Escalate complex, sensitive, or policy interpretation matters to the Human Resources Director or Human Resources Business Partner. • Support the HR team with federal, state, and local employment compliance initiatives. • Assist with leave of absence documentation and tracking, including coordination of required paperwork and return-to-work documentation. • Maintain accurate, confidential, and audit-ready employee records. LEARNING MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (LMS) • Administer the Learning Management System and coordinate employee training assignments. • Deploy, assign, and track required and optional training. • Monitor completion rates and follow up with employees and managers regarding outstanding assignments. • Maintain training records and ensure required training is assigned based on role, department, and applicable requirements. • Support the Human Resources Director and HR Business Partner with the development and implementation of employee training initiatives. HRIS & SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATION • Serve as a day-to-day administrator and knowledgeable user of the Paychex platform, including Paychex Flex, Time & Attendance, Payroll, and Paychex Flex Engage. • Maintain accurate employee information and system records. • Complete routine system updates, configuration changes, and employee data maintenance. • Support the implementation and rollout of new Paychex features, modules, and HR technology initiatives. • Partner with Paychex support and internal stakeholders to troubleshoot system issues and implement solutions. • Maintain appropriate system access and ensure employee information is handled securely and confidentially. EMPLOYEE RECORDS & DOCUMENTATION • Maintain accurate and organized electronic employee files and HR documentation. • Manage the distribution, collection, and filing of employee documents. • Process employment verification requests in accordance with company procedures. • Ensure employee records are complete, accurate, and maintained in accordance with applicable requirements. • Support audits, reporting requests, and internal HR documentation needs. HR TEAM SUPPORT & GENERAL ADMINISTRATION • Execute HR tasks, projects, and initiatives assigned by the Human Resources Director and Human Resources Business Partner. • Provide administrative and operational support across the HR function as needed. • Assist with employee communications, HR announcements, and department initiatives. • Maintain accurate HR reports and tracking documents. • Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, workflows, and employee service. • Maintain a high level of responsiveness to employees, managers, and internal stakeholders. • Perform other HR-related duties and responsibilities as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: REQUIRED • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. • 2+ years of experience in an HR Generalist, HR Coordinator, HR Operations, or related HR role. • Hands-on experience with HRIS platforms and HR administration. • Experience with payroll processing and time and attendance administration. • Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail. • Strong written and verbal communication skills. • Ability to independently manage recurring processes, deadlines, and competing priorities. • Ability to handle confidential employee information with discretion and sound judgment. • Ability to respond professionally and appropriately to routine employee questions. • Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office or comparable business applications. • Ability to work effectively and independently in a fully remote environment. PREFERRED • Experience with Paychex Flex, Paychex Time & Attendance, and Paychex Payroll. • Experience with Paychex Flex Engage. • Experience administering or supporting an LMS. • Familiarity with leave of absence administration, including FMLA and state-specific leave requirements. • Experience supporting HRIS implementations, system enhancements, or product rollouts. • Experience working in a
