This group provides strategic partnership, production support and project execution to three primary internet sites (CIBC Online Banking, cibc.com and Simplii Financial), and mobile banking. As a Senior Java developer, you will be a key chapter member of the cross-functional Squad supporting CIBC’s Digital Transformation, successfully implementing complex, enterprise-scale solutions on modern platforms with a variety of system integrations and patterns. You need to be a good programmer. You will develop and implement solutions to the main Digital channels hands-on, under the guidance of Chapter leads and Product Owner. You will also be part of the exciting journey to enhance our systems in the Cloud and AI technology. At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. How You’ll Succeed Design and development: Conduct API design by analyzing business requirements and following system architecture and high-level design. Develop APIs following the right design patterns and best practices. Key deliverables also include good-quality test cases and documentation. Be good at coding complex systems and business logic effectively. Be good at modern development concepts and processes, both understanding and practice. Continuous improvement: Be the advocate for continuous improvement. Follow and contribute to best practices to ensure quality of work. Consistently seek process efficiency and effectiveness to enhance productivity. Having the right understanding of modern technology and modern development culture is an asset. Operational efficiency: Be the next level support for operational activities. Be good at problem-solving, and troubleshooting and have sound understanding of performance tuning Learning: Always wanting to learn and be good at learning Who You Are You can demonstrate strong experience in: Java/J2EE, Spring/Spring Boot, Web Services (SOAP, JSON and RESTFul); Proven and solid hands-on experience in Microservices and API development with at least 5 years of experience in Java development in the enterprise environment. Be familiar with Agile methodologies and Cloud environments (Azure/OCP, Kubernetes or equivalent) You embrace change. You are passionate about being up to speed with technology trends.
