Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Software Engineer role based in Chandigarh, India. The Software Engineer will design, develop, test, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs that power CheckMed’s preventive healthcare and wellness platform. Responsibilities include implementing secure and efficient server-side logic, integrating with third-party services and internal systems, and optimizing application performance and reliability. The role involves collaborating closely with product, data, and QA teams to translate requirements into robust technical solutions, participating in code reviews, and contributing to architectural decisions. The Software Engineer will also help improve development workflows, maintain documentation, and ensure adherence to best practices in software engineering and data security. Qualifications Strong foundations in Computer Science, including data structures, algorithms, and software architecture principles. Proficiency in Software Development and Programming, with experience building production-grade applications and services. Hands-on experience in Back-End Web Development, including RESTful APIs, databases, and server-side frameworks. Solid understanding and practical use of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts and design patterns. Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field. Experience with at least one modern programming language commonly used for backend development (e.g., Java, Python, Node.js, Go, or similar). Familiarity with relational and/or NoSQL databases, version control systems (e.g., Git), and CI/CD practices. Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams, communicate clearly, and take ownership of deliverables. Understanding of security, privacy, and compliance considerations in healthcare or other regulated domains is an advantage. Exposure to cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is beneficial.
