Role Description The Veterinarian will provide comprehensive medical care to pets, including conducting physical examinations, diagnosing illnesses, recommending treatment plans, and performing routine and advanced procedures as appropriate. Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing patient histories, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, prescribing medications, performing surgeries or minor procedures, and monitoring patient recovery. The role also involves communicating clearly with pet caregivers, educating them on preventive care, nutrition, and follow-up treatments, and maintaining accurate medical records. The Veterinarian will collaborate with veterinary assistants, technicians, and other team members to ensure high standards of clinical care and hospital operations. This is a full-time, on-site role based at Saisha Pet Speciality Hospital in Chennai. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong clinical skills in small animal medicine, including examination, diagnosis, treatment planning, and preventive care. Candidates should possess competence in surgical and procedural skills such as routine soft tissue surgeries, wound management, and anesthesia monitoring. Candidates should possess familiarity with diagnostic techniques, including laboratory testing, imaging interpretation, and use of medical equipment commonly found in veterinary practice. Candidates should possess effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with pet caregivers, colleagues, and support staff in a clear and empathetic manner. Candidates should possess strong record-keeping, organizational, and time-management abilities to handle multiple cases and maintain accurate medical documentation. Candidates should possess a recognized veterinary degree (BVSc or equivalent), valid veterinary registration/licensure as required, and a commitment to ongoing professional development. Experience in a small animal clinic or hospital setting, comfort with emergency and critical care cases, and proficiency in English and local languages are beneficial.
