About Us Blankfactor is a global technology company that builds impactful digital products and solutions for clients across different industries. As part of Globant, we work with strong engineering teams, modern technologies, and a culture focused on collaboration, innovation, and continuous growth. About the Role We are seeking a Senior Python Developer to design, scale, and optimize high-performance backend systems and serverless architectures. In this role, you will lead the development of modern RESTful APIs using FastAPI and leverage AWS cloud services—with a heavy emphasis on AWS Lambda—to build event-driven microservices. You will work closely with cross-functional engineering teams to write clean, asynchronous Python code, streamline data flows, and ensure our cloud infrastructure remains resilient, secure, and highly scalable. Key Responsibilities API Development & Integration: Design, implement, and maintain high-throughput, low-latency RESTful APIs and web services using FastAPI and modern asynchronous Python. Serverless Architecture: Architect and deploy serverless components using AWS Lambda , EventBridge, API Gateway, and SQS/SNS to drive event-driven backend workflows. Cloud Infrastructure: Leverage core AWS services (e.g., S3, DynamoDB, RDS, CloudWatch) to build secure, reliable, and cost-optimized cloud-native applications. Code Quality & Automation: Enforce software engineering best practices through comprehensive unit/integration testing (pytest), code reviews, and automated CI/CD pipeline integration. Performance Optimization: Profile applications, resolve performance bottlenecks, and optimize asynchronous tasks and database queries for maximum speed and execution efficiency. Collaboration & Technical Ownership: Partner with solution architects, DevOps engineers, and product managers to translate complex technical requirements into production-ready software. Qualifications Experience: 5+ years of enterprise backend software development experience using Python (Python 3.10+) . Framework Expertise: Deep hands-on experience building production APIs with FastAPI (including Pydantic, async/await concurrency, and Dependency Injection patterns). AWS & Serverless: Strong track record designing, deploying, and managing serverless applications on AWS , specifically using AWS Lambda and serverless execution models. Data & Persistence: Solid proficiency with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) using ORMs like SQLAlchemy or Tortoise, alongside NoSQL databases like DynamoDB. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent professional experience). Skills & Competencies Python Mastery: Advanced understanding of asynchronous programming (asyncio), type hints, data structures, and object-oriented design patterns. Cloud Tools & IaC: Familiarity with AWS deployment frameworks (AWS SAM, Serverless Framework, CDK) or Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform). Containerization & CI/CD: Solid grasp of Docker for local development and experience executing build/deployment pipelines via GitHub Actions, CircleCI, or similar tools. Security & Auth: Understanding of API security protocols, including OAuth2, JWT authentication, CORS, and AWS IAM policies. Problem Solving & Teamwork: Excellent analytical and debugging skills paired with strong communication and collaborative decision-making abilities.

Here's how to pick the right one and stand out in your application.

144.883Jobs

That number is real. WorkMundi's database shows 144,883 open engineer roles across the world. India has the most with 31,687 jobs, followed by the United States with 30,084. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.

Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.

Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.

When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
