Role Overview Join us as a Software Engineer building the next generation of AI products. This hands-on engineering role combines Platform Engineering, Security, and Software Development to create the cloud platform that powers our applications at scale. You'll spend approximately 50% of your time building secure, automated, and reliable infrastructure, and the other 50% developing innovative product features - working with the latest cloud, AI, and developer technologies to deliver solutions used across the organization. You will build, secure, and operate modern cloud-based applications and AI platforms, developing new product features while helping ensure our infrastructure is secure, scalable, and reliable. Working closely with product and engineering, you will develop new product features while managing cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, application security, and production operations across our AI platforms. Core Responsibilities Infrastructure & Data Platform Engineering Maintain efficient cloud Infrastructure, and development environments. Develop integrations with social media platforms, enterprise systems, and external APIs/MCPs. Improve platform reliability, monitoring, logging, and performance. Build and maintain data pipelines supporting AI products. Ensure data quality, governance, and secure data handling. DevOps & Security Implement secure deployment practices and automated quality gates. Perform vulnerability assessments, dependency management, and security testing. Support penetration testing, remediation, and security hardening initiatives. Ensure products follow secure coding standards and compliance requirements. Software Engineering Design, develop, and maintain full-stack web applications and APIs. Build scalable backend services and modern frontend experiences. Participate in architecture, code reviews, and technical design discussions. What Success Looks Like Secure applications with vulnerabilities identified and remediated early. Reliable data pipelines powering AI products. Highly available and scalable cloud infrastructure. High-quality software delivered on schedule. Strong collaboration across engineering, product, and security teams. Well-documented systems that are easy to maintain and scale. Experience & Skills Bachelor's degree in computer science, or a related technical field. 2–3 years of experience in software development, cloud infrastructure, or platform engineering. Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Cloud Build), Docker, and cloud infrastructure management. Working knowledge of application security, including secure coding, IAM, OAuth/SSO, secrets management, vulnerability remediation, and security best practices. Experience developing full-stack applications and APIs using modern technologies. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to manage production environments, monitor system health, and improve platform reliability. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across product, engineering, infrastructure, and security teams in an Agile environment. Nice to haves: Experience integrating APIs, building automation workflows (e.g., n8n), and working with AI/LLM platforms such as Gemini, Vertex AI, OpenAI, or Claude. Familiarity with UX flows and writing specs/SOPs. Exposure automation or agentic workflows. The anticipated annual base salary range for this position is $65,000–$85,000. Individual compensation within this range is determined based on job-related factors such as experience, skills, level of responsibility, internal equity, and business needs. This range represents the expected base salary for this role and does not include other elements of SALT’s total rewards program. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully.
