Job Description Join our Infrastructure team as a Senior Linux Infrastructure Engineer and help shape the secure, reliable, and high-performing systems that power our business. As a Linux subject matter expert, you will take ownership of complex enterprise environments across on-premises and cloud infrastructure, using automation and modern engineering practices to improve resilience, scalability, and operational efficiency. Responsibilities Automate, deploy, and maintain Infrastructure using Ansible and other similar tools. Build, implement, and support tools and services to maintain the reliability of our infrastructure and its services. This consists of AWS native, open source, third party, and custom solutions. Design and implement CI/CD pipelines to automate tasks and deploy infrastructure and applications in a consistent manner. Write code, scripts, and contribute to shared codebases. Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in development, test , and production environments. Support user needs regarding compute and storage needs for High Performance Compute environments on prem and in the cloud. Participate in planned maintenance, and unplanned outages, and incident. Qualifications 3+ years of experience working as an Infrastructure Engineer or similar. Conceptual knowledge and understanding of frameworks of a DevOps and Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) approach. Expert knowledge of Linux operating system fundamentals including experience with multiple distributions, building software from source, and Network attached filesystems. Expert knowledge of one or more programming and scripting language . Shell scripting and Python are preferred. Expert knowledge of on-premises and cloud native infrastructures. Expert knowledge of navigating a TCP IP based environment. Participate in a security first mindset. Experience in a VMWare environment is a plus. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.
Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.
When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
