English Teacher

Role Description This full-time on-site English Teacher role at American School Way is based in Manizales. The English Teacher is responsible for delivering engaging, learner-centered English classes to students of varying proficiency levels, using a variety of teaching methods and resources. Day-to-day tasks include preparing and implementing lesson plans, assessing student progress, providing constructive feedback, and maintaining accurate records of attendance and performance. The role also involves supporting learners’ language development in reading, writing, listening, and speaking, fostering a positive, inclusive classroom environment, and collaborating with colleagues to align teaching practices with the school’s curriculum and standards. Additional responsibilities may include participating in professional development activities, contributing to academic meetings, and communicating regularly with students and administrative staff. Qualifications Demonstrated proficiency in English Teaching and Teaching, with experience instructing learners at different levels. Strong Lesson Planning abilities and solid knowledge of Education practices and methodologies. Excellent Communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain concepts clearly and respectfully. Bachelor’s degree in Education, English, Linguistics, or a related field, or equivalent teaching certification. Experience teaching in a classroom setting, preferably in language institutes or schools. Ability to create inclusive, motivating learning environments and manage classroom dynamics effectively. Comfort working on-site in Manizales and collaborating with a diverse academic team. Knowledge of language assessment techniques and familiarity with modern educational technology and digital teaching tools.
