Help Desk / Network Engineer Location: Hybrid – Babylon, NY, with regular onsite client visits throughout Long Island and the New York metropolitan area Employment Type: Full-Time About the Role We are seeking an experienced Help Desk / Network Engineer to join a growing Managed IT Services environment supporting businesses throughout the New York area. This is not an entry-level help desk position . We are looking for an experienced IT professional who can independently troubleshoot complex technical issues, take ownership of problems from start to finish, and provide a high level of customer service. The ideal candidate will have strong experience across Windows and macOS environments, Microsoft 365, Windows Server, Active Directory, networking, and endpoint support , along with previous experience working in an MSP, corporate IT department, or similar technical environment. Key Responsibilities Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 technical support to business clients both remotely and onsite. Diagnose and resolve Windows and macOS workstation issues. Troubleshoot and administer Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, Entra ID/Azure AD, SharePoint, and OneDrive . Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows Server and Active Directory environments. Support Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and TCP/IP . Diagnose networking issues involving firewalls, switches, wireless networks, and VPN connectivity . Install, configure, and deploy desktops, laptops, printers, and other business technology. Respond to support requests through a ticketing system while maintaining accurate and detailed documentation. Collaborate with other engineers to resolve complex technical issues and support infrastructure projects. Perform routine maintenance, patch management, and proactive system health checks. Participate in new client onboarding and technology upgrade projects. Participate in occasional after-hours maintenance windows as needed. Travel to client locations throughout Long Island and the New York metropolitan area as required. Required Qualifications 5+ years of professional IT support experience within an MSP, corporate IT department, or similar environment. Strong experience supporting both Windows and macOS environments. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration . Experience with Exchange Online, Entra ID/Azure AD, SharePoint, and OneDrive . Hands-on experience supporting Windows Server and Active Directory . Strong understanding of Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, and VPN technologies . Experience troubleshooting firewalls, switches, wireless networks, and general network connectivity . Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with the ability to independently diagnose complex technical problems. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to manage and prioritize multiple technical issues in a fast-paced environment. Comfortable working independently while collaborating with a broader technical team. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for local client visits. Must reside in Nassau or Suffolk County, New York . Preferred Qualifications Previous experience working for a Managed Service Provider (MSP) . Experience supporting law firms or other professional services organizations . Experience with Kaseya, Datto RMM, Autotask PSA, or similar MSP platforms . Experience with Microsoft Intune, Entra ID, and endpoint management . Microsoft, CompTIA, Cisco, or similar technical certifications. Ideal Candidate You will be successful in this role if you: Enjoy troubleshooting technical problems that don't always have obvious answers. Take ownership of issues rather than simply escalating them. Can communicate technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical users. Stay calm and organized while managing multiple priorities. Enjoy learning new technologies and continuously developing your technical skills.
