Senior Mobile Engineer (minimum 5 years experience) AI Agent Platform (NYC, onsite 4 days a week) $165k-$220k + equity Must have RTW in the US I'm working with a fast-growing AI startup that recently closed a major new funding round backed by top-tier investors (Series B). They're building autonomous AI agents that are already live in production at some of the largest enterprise operators in the country. We're hiring a senior mobile engineer to own the surface where all of this meets real humans in the field, and to help shape how the company builds mobile as it scales. What you need: 5+ years shipping production mobile apps, with strong proficiency in React Native Proficient across the full stack, not just mobile in isolation Solid understanding of Swift and modern iOS development Real grasp of mobile architecture patterns (MVVM, Coordinator, Redux-style state management), not just familiarity Full App Store lifecycle experience: review, rollout, crash triage, hotfixes Strong communicator, comfortable explaining and defending architecture decisions to non-technical stakeholders What you'd be doing: Owning mobile end-to-end: React Native as the core, with Swift/Kotlin in the mix, and real architectural decision-making, not just execution Working across the stack when the problem calls for it Building for the field, not the office. Think spotty warehouse Wi-Fi, gloved-hand inputs, offline-first sync Mentoring engineers, raising the bar on code quality, shaping mobile culture as the team scales Getting hands-on with LLMs and agent-driven workflows, this is a mobile role built for someone who wants to work on AI, not just around it

That number is real. WorkMundi's database shows 144,883 open engineer roles across the world. India has the most with 31,687 jobs, followed by the United States with 30,084. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.

Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.

Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.

When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
