Your Team Snowflake Administrator / Data Platform Engineer At Capgemini’s Insights & Data practice, we help organizations unlock the value of data through modern cloud platforms, advanced analytics, and data-driven transformation. Working with global clients across various industries, we design, build, and operate scalable data ecosystems that empower better business decisions. We are currently looking for a Snowflake Administrator / Data Platform Engineer to join a large-scale enterprise data platform initiative. This role combines platform ownership, security, governance, and operational excellence with opportunities to contribute to Data Engineering and platform evolution. You will work in a collaborative environment focused on delivering reliable, secure, and scalable data solutions that support critical business processes. Your Task Administer and support enterprise-scale Snowflake environments. Manage users, roles, permissions, and security policies based on RBAC principles. Monitor platform performance, resource utilization, and consumption to ensure efficiency and cost optimization. Manage Snowflake accounts, databases, virtual warehouses, data sharing configurations, and Marketplace integrations. Support automation initiatives, CI/CD processes, and Infrastructure as Code practices. Investigate and resolve platform, connectivity, security, and performance-related issues. Contribute to the implementation and maintenance of data governance standards and platform best practices. Support Data Engineering activities, including data ingestion, transformation, orchestration, and data product development. Work with modern Snowflake capabilities such as Snowpipe, Tasks, Dynamic Tables, Snowpark, SQL, and dbt. Collaborate closely with Data Engineers, Architects, DevOps teams, and business stakeholders to ensure platform reliability and continuous improvement. Your Profile Extensive hands-on experience administering Snowflake in complex enterprise environments. Strong understanding of Snowflake security, RBAC, performance optimization, monitoring, and operational best practices. Advanced SQL skills and the ability to work effectively with large-scale data environments. Experience with automation and scripting, preferably using Python. Strong understanding of modern Data Engineering concepts and cloud-based data platforms. Interest in combining platform administration with hands-on Data Engineering activities. Experience designing and implementing secure, scalable, and governed data platform solutions. Familiarity with cloud environments such as Azure and/or AWS. Knowledge of CI/CD practices and Infrastructure as Code approaches. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work effectively in collaborative, cross-functional teams and take ownership of platform stability and continuous improvement. That number is real. WorkMundi's database shows 144,883 open engineer roles across the world. India has the most with 31,687 jobs, followed by the United States with 30,084. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.
Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.
When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
