As a founding Data Engineer, you will own the end-to-end data stack—ingestion, transformation, modeling, and application integration—and shape the product direction and culture from the ground up. Why this role Founding role: autonomy and creative input on architecture, tools, and product direction. Work directly with the CTO on product delivery, technical roadmap, and GTM support. Build foundational data architecture that is reliable today and scalable tomorrow. What you will do Ingest external and internal data using BigQuery, Airbyte, or custom Python extractors. Structure robust transformation workflows with dbt. Use Airflow or Dagster for orchestration. Design and build logic to learn from and improve data over time (e.g., predictive fields for expected revenue using AI/ML). Develop clean, scalable connections between processed data and internal tools or customer-facing applications (e.g., Metabase). Collaborate directly with the CTO on product delivery, technical roadmap, and GTM support. Build foundational data architecture that is reliable today and scalable tomorrow. What we are looking for Startup-ready mindset; experience in scrappy environments and shipping with limited oversight. Deep experience across the modern data stack: BigQuery, Airbyte, dbt, Python, Dagster/Airflow. Fluency in Python and confidence building custom ETL pipelines. Comfort with ML/AI pipelines or predictive logic (e.g., TAM scoring, revenue estimation). Passion for clean data and elegant engineering. Based in Los Angeles or willing to relocate; remote to start, transitioning to hybrid.
