JOB DESCRIPTION Mobile Application Developer Android & iOS | Native Development |AI-Driven Engineering Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Mobile Application Developer with strong expertise across Android and iOS native development, complemented by genuine AI-driven development fluency. This is a sole-ownership role responsible for the development, improvement, and maintenance of DataMyte's mobile applications across both platforms. The Mobile Application Developer will collaborate with Executive, Marketing, Sales, and Engineering leadership on architecture, design, development, and product improvements. The role includes evaluating technologies, defining technical approaches, ensuring platform stability, and maintaining the long-term health of the mobile codebase. Key Responsibilities Own end-to-end development, delivery, and maintenance of native Android and iOS mobile applications, ensuring feature parity and quality across both platforms. Build responsive user interfaces for both phones and tablets on both platforms. Apply AI-driven development practices to accelerate delivery, support modernization, and improve code quality. Collaborate with Marketing, Sales, and Development teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions and innovative mobile user experiences. Manage Proof of Concept activities to validate technical feasibility of new features and architectural directions. Translate business requirements into clear technical requirements and implementation plans. Apply appropriate mobile software architecture patterns (MVC, MVVM, MVP) and exercise judgment on when to use each. Build and consume reusable components and libraries across both mobile platforms. Perform software integration with backend services, cloud infrastructure, and third-party APIs. Conduct performance tuning and optimization across both platforms for real-world device conditions. Implement and maintain manual and automated unit tests to ensure code quality and platform stability. Coordinate with offshore engineering contractors during knowledge transfer periods and for ongoing collaborative work. Perform design and code reviews and share mobile development knowledge with the broader engineering team. Produce and maintain technical documentation, including architectural decision records, runbooks, and onboarding materials, to ensure knowledge continuity. Manage release activities across both the App Store and Google Play, including review compliance and rollout coordination. Required Skills and Experience Mobile Development (Native) Extensive experience in native iOS and Android development. Demonstrated end-to-end delivery experience on both platforms, including App Store and Google Play release management. Android Technologies Java and Kotlin proficiency. Object-oriented design principles. Modern Android architecture patterns including MVVM. Android activity lifecycle and modern framework APIs. Consuming REST APIs and HTTP services. Core Bluetooth and similar hardware APIs (a plus). Material Design Framework (a plus). iOS Technologies Objective-C and Swift proficiency. iOS application lifecycle and modern framework APIs. Consuming REST APIs and HTTP services. Core Bluetooth and similar hardware APIs (a plus). AI-Driven Development Demonstrated practical experience using AI coding assistants (such as Claude) in real development workflows. Ability to apply AI tooling to accelerate code generation, refactoring, cross-platform translation, and legacy code modernization. Sound judgment on where AI assistance is appropriate versus where direct expertise is required. Cloud, DevOps, and Backend Integration Experience with Azure (required); Strong DevOps fundamentals: commit, branch/merge, build, and deploy workflows. Version control proficiency with Git and Microsoft source control tools. Solid understanding of security models for mobile applications. Familiarity with JSON Web Tokens (JWT). Working experience with JSON, RESTful APIs, and multithreading. Supporting Technologies Xamarin .NET MAUI JavaScript, HTML, and CSS. Ability to read and work with Angular, Python, and C# code (a plus). Database experience: SQL Server and SQLite. Process and Collaboration Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies. Story development across application layers. Requirements engineering and translation of business needs into technical specifications. Qualifications Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience designing and developing mobile applications, with demonstrated work across both Android and iOS platforms. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience working effectively with both technical and non-technical teams including Marketing and Sales. Ability to work independently as a sole mobile platform owner, with strong judgment, self-direction, and accountability. Strong documentation discipline to ensure knowledge continuity and platform stability. Preferred Qualifications Experience modernizing legacy mobile codebases (Objective-C to Swift, Java to Kotlin, Xamarin to MAUI). Hands-on experience as a sole or primary mobile platform owner in a small engineering team. Experience evaluating or working with cross-platform mobile frameworks (Kotlin Multiplatform, React Native, .NET MAUI, Flutter). Prior experience coordinating with offshore engineering teams on shared codebases. Background contributing to architectural decisions and technical roadmap planning.
