Overview Allspring is seeking a Data Engineer II to join Allspring Engineering and Technology Platform Data team (Responsible for Distribution, Marketing, Product & Corporate Data) team. The role requires strong hands-on data engineering skills, business engagement capabilities, and the ability to deliver solutions independently. The ideal candidate will bring asset and/or wealth management experience, strong technical expertise, and a passion for building reliable, scalable data products; and support L2/L3 production incidents through on-call rotations and end-to-end issue resolution. We currently operate in a hybrid working model, whereby you will be required to work in-office 4 days per week. Location(s): Charlotte, NC, or Milwaukee, WI Responsibilities Partner directly with stakeholders across Distribution, Sales, Marketing, Corporate, and Finance to gather and clarify business requirements, translate them into technical designs, and implement effective data solutions. Work as a hands-on member of the Distribution Data team, collaborating with senior data engineers, architects, analysts, and business partners to deliver high-quality data products. Design, develop, test, deploy, and support efficient data ingestion, transformation, and integration pipelines using industry-standard tools and technologies. Develop and optimize database solutions, data models, SQL queries, stored procedures, and data processing workflows across Snowflake, Oracle and AWS environments. Build maintainable Informatica Data Management Cloud(IDMC), Snowflake, AWS Aurora, Oracle, Python, Autosys based data engineering solutions, including automation, validation, orchestration, and data quality controls. Use GitHub Copilot or similar coding agents responsibly to accelerate development, testing, documentation, and code review while maintaining engineering quality and security standards. Monitor production data pipelines and resolve data issues, performance bottlenecks, and operational incidents in a timely manner. Partner with Business Intelligence teams to deliver high-quality, trusted data across Salesforce CRMA, Tableau, and Kyvos, enabling effective reporting and analytics. Collaborate with the broader Platform and Data Operations team to continuously enhance the Data Management toolkit, leveraging technologies such as IDMC, Snowflake, AWS Aurora, Iceberg, Autosys, and Datadog. Advance AI adoption across the team to improve operational efficiency and support strategic outcomes. Qualifications Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or higher in MIS, Computer Science, Engineering, or another technology related field. 5+ years of hands-on data engineering experience, ideally within financial services or asset and/or wealth management, with strong knowledge of industry products and preferably the Distribution domain. 5+ years of Proficient/advanced SQL experience in Oracle, AWS Aurora or similar relational databases. 5+ years of strong experience in architecting, designing, and delivering solutions using IDMC (Informatica Data Management Cloud) or equivalent platforms 3+ years of experience of building data products in Snowflake. 3+ years of AWS Cloud or any other cloud platform experience Ability to use GitHub Copilot or similar coding agents effectively and responsibly as part of the software development lifecycle. Experience with AUM, flows, holdings, positions, securities master, client reporting, CRM, or distribution data domains. Understanding of financial instruments, investment vehicles, and sales/distribution reporting. Experience integrating with REST APIs, SaaS platforms, event-driven architectures, and external vendor data sources. Understanding of data lineage, metadata management, data cataloging, and governance practices Proven experience with Agile development and SDLC using CI/CD devops principles. Ability to independently manage assigned work from requirements gathering through implementation, testing, deployment, and production support. Ability to communicate effectively with business and technical audiences in person and through electronic formats. Ability to work effectively in a collaborative business environment with changing priorities and varying interruptions. Remain in stationary positions for prolonged periods of time. Operate computer programs and software. Ability to communicate effectively with audiences in-person and in electronic formats. Day-to-day contact with others (co-workers and/or public). Ability to work in a collaborative business environment in close quarters with peers and varying interruptions. Preferred Qualifications 3+ years of working with Autosys or similar Orchestration frameworks. 3+ years pr working with s3 or similar Object storage technologies. Experience working with Salesforce CRM & Salesforce Data Cloud Experience of working with reporting and analytics engines like Tableau, Kyvos and Salesforce CRMA. Experience of working with Salesconnect, Salesvision or similar data aggregators. Strong Business knowledge of Distribution domain in asset management industry in US and global markets. Compensation Base Pay Range: $95,000 - $115,000 Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary bonus programs, or other annual or non-annual incentive or sales plans.) Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
