Job Title: Manufacturing Systems Engineer (MES) (Local W2 only) Job Location: Meriden, CT 06450 (Onsite) Job Duration: 12+ months contract to hire (with high possibility of extension or potential to Full-time) Pay Range: $50 to $60/Hour on W2 Note: 2nd round (Final round) will be onsite Position Summary The Manufacturing Systems Engineer is responsible for supporting, maintaining, and continuously improving Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), manufacturing automation systems, and production applications within a regulated manufacturing environment. This role partners closely with Operations, Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, and IT to ensure manufacturing systems are reliable, compliant, and optimized for efficient production. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership for manufacturing systems, support day-to-day plant operations, troubleshoot production issues, implement system improvements, and ensure compliance with GMP and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities Manufacturing Systems Support Provide technical support for MES, manufacturing automation, and production information systems across manufacturing operations. Maintain and support manufacturing systems including MES, SCADA/HMI applications, PLC interfaces, historians, and related production technologies. Monitor system performance and proactively identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, production efficiency, and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE). Support manufacturing personnel by resolving production system issues and minimizing equipment downtime. Coordinate with Maintenance, Engineering, IT, and Quality to troubleshoot manufacturing system failures and implement sustainable corrective actions. Continuous Improvement Support implementation of new manufacturing technologies and system enhancements. Evaluate existing manufacturing workflows and recommend process improvements that increase productivity, quality, and traceability. Support equipment commissioning, startup activities, and system upgrades. MES Administration & Manufacturing Operations Configure and support Manufacturing Execution System (MES) functionality including production workflows, electronic records, equipment integration, and manufacturing data collection. Support MES integration with ERP systems and shop floor equipment to improve production visibility and material traceability. Assist in maintaining production dashboards, equipment utilization metrics, and manufacturing performance reporting. Support electronic batch records (EBR), electronic device history records (eDHR), and manufacturing documentation systems. Cross-Functional Collaboration Serve as a technical resource for manufacturing operations and production support. Collaborate with Operations, Quality, Validation, Engineering, Maintenance, and IT to resolve manufacturing challenges. Provide training and technical guidance to manufacturing personnel on production systems and MES applications. Participate in project teams implementing new equipment, manufacturing lines, or system enhancements. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline. 3+ years supporting manufacturing systems in pharmaceutical, medical device, biotechnology, or other regulated manufacturing environments. Experience supporting Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) in a production environment. Experience working with manufacturing automation and industrial control systems. Strong understanding of manufacturing operations and production support. Preferred Technical Experience Experience supporting, maintaining, or administering one or more of the following manufacturing software platforms and technologies is preferred: Ignition (Perspective, Vision, Gateway, or Designer) Wonderware (AVEVA) Historian and/or InTouch Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) Microsoft SQL Server, including SQL Reporting Services (SSRS), SQL queries, and Stored Procedures Microsoft Visual Basic (VB.NET and/or VB6) for supporting and maintaining legacy manufacturing applications PLC/HMI interfaces and manufacturing data collection systems ERP integration with manufacturing systems Manufacturing reporting, dashboards, and production analytics OPC-UA, Ethernet/IP, and industrial communications
