About the Role We are seeking a hands-on individual contributor to take ownership of the performance, reliability, and evolution of our NetSuite environment and financial systems. This role is ideal for someone who wants to become the organization’s definitive NetSuite subject-matter expert – not by managing a team, but by serving as the strategic and operational owner of the platform. You will lead the configuration, integrations, data integrity, controls, and overall roadmap for NetSuite, ensuring the platform effectively supports our finance function and broader business needs. This is an opportunity to have significant ownership and influence over how our financial systems operate, while building deep expertise in one of the company’s most critical platforms. You'll sit at the intersection of accounting, finance, and technology (with operational visibility). Some of your time will be strategic: shaping the platform roadmap, identifying opportunities for automation, and deciding what we should build next. Other days will be highly tactical: sitting with the AP team, Procurement, AR to understand why a workflow is broken and fix it before lunch. Key Responsibilities Own and Administer the Platform Serve as the primary administrator for our NetSuite environment OneWorld / multi-subsidiary / including users, roles, permissions, security, and segregation of duties. Own the NetSuite release cycle: evaluate semiannual releases, manage sandbox environments, test changes, and control deployments into production. Maintain a clean, scalable system architecture across custom fields and records, forms, lists, workflows, and other configurations. Establish and maintain configuration standards and system hygiene as the platform evolves. Manage relationships with NetSuite Support and third-party SuiteApp and technology vendors. Improve and Build Own and drive the NetSuite platform roadmap, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, scalability, automation, and user experience. Design and build solutions using SuiteFlow, saved searches, custom records, and SuiteScript as appropriate. Automate manual processes and close operational gaps while balancing business needs with long-term system maintainability. Prototype quickly, iterate based on feedback, and measure whether changes produce meaningful improvements. Evaluate whether a problem is best solved through configuration, automation, process redesign, or a combination of all three. Partner with the Business Partner closely with Finance, Accounting, and Operations to understand how work actually gets done – not simply how documented processes say it should happen. Translate ambiguous or evolving business needs into practical, scalable system solutions. Bring sound judgment to solution design, including challenging requests when a process change is more appropriate than another customization. Identify opportunities to simplify and automate the monthly and quarterly close, reducing manual effort and improving accuracy. Build strong relationships with system users and become a trusted advisor on how NetSuite can support the business. Own Data, Reporting, and Analytics Build and maintain saved searches, reports, dashboards, and KPIs that provide Finance and leadership with reliable, actionable information. Own data integrity across the platform, including reconciliations, imports, data cleanup, and ongoing data-quality standards. Establish practices that ensure NetSuite data remains accurate, consistent, and fit for downstream reporting and analytics. Provide clean, well-structured data to downstream BI and data-warehouse platforms as applicable. Own Integrations Maintain and improve integrations between NetSuite and the broader technology ecosystem, including CRM, expense, procurement, billing, payroll, banking, and data-warehouse platforms. Monitor integration health, troubleshoot issues, and identify opportunities to improve reliability and scalability. Work with existing vendors to maintain existing integrations and develop new capabilities as the business grows. Partner with internal and external technical resources when integrations require specialized development or support. Govern, Document, and Enable Maintain SOX-relevant controls, audit trails, and segregation-of-duties standards (if applicable). Document key configurations, processes, integrations, and system decisions so the environment remains understandable and maintainable. Establish appropriate change-management and testing practices for production changes. Provide training, documentation, and enablement to help Finance and other teams get more value from NetSuite. Serve as the internal subject-matter expert and primary point of escalation for NetSuite-related questions and issues. Operating Principles AI-Native by Default You instinctively look for ways AI can make you faster and more effective. You use AI tools to draft and debug SuiteScript, analyze datasets, generate documentation, investigate configuration issues, and work through complex problems. You experiment with NetSuite's native AI and automation capabilities as well as external AI tools, and you're constantly looking for the next manual task that can be automated. Curious and Eager to Learn NetSuite is deep, complex, and constantly evolving. You enjoy learning how the platform works and staying current with new capabilities, releases, and best practices. Autonomous and High-Judgment You can take an initiative from discovery through design, development, testing, rollout, and adoption without needing someone to define every next step. You bring judgment and ownership, not just execution. Comfortable in Ambiguity You don't need perfect requirements to get started. You're comfortable sitting with the people doing the work, asking questions, investigating edge cases, and finding the improvement underneath the problem. Practical and Outcome-Oriented You care less about making the system look sophisticated and more about making the business work better. You measure success by reduced manual effort, better data, faster processes, fewer errors, and a better experience for the people using the system. What You Bring — Must-Haves Education Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, FinTech, or related field required. Equivalent practical experience with NetSuite, financial systems, and business applications will be considered in lieu of a degree. Experience 6+ years of experience administering NetSuite in a finance or accounting environment, ideally including OneWorld / multi-subsidiary. Strong command of NetSuite configuration, including SuiteFlow, saved searches, custom records and fields, forms, roles and permissions, and reporting. Solid understanding of core financ
