Role: DevOps Engineer Job Location: Chicago, IL 60661 Employment Type: Temporary/Contract Duration: 48 Weeks Number of Positions: 1 Experience Required: 5-7+ Years Key Skills: AWS, DevOps, GitHub, GitHub Actions, Infrastructure as Code, MLOps, CloudFormation Position Overview We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to join the DevOps Engineering team and support multiple digital engineering teams in developing, building, testing, and deploying cloud-based solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with AWS, GitHub Actions, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, and MLOps/AI services . The role requires strong technical troubleshooting skills, excellent communication, and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional engineering teams. Required Qualifications 5-7+ years of experience working as a DevOps Engineer. 5+ years of hands-on AWS cloud experience. Strong experience with GitHub and GitHub Actions , including YAML-based CI/CD pipelines. Hands-on experience developing and deploying AWS infrastructure using AWS CloudFormation . Strong AWS experience with MLOps and AI services , including: Amazon SageMaker / SageMaker Notebooks Amazon Bedrock Amazon ECS/EKS AWS IAM Experience with cloud infrastructure, automation, deployment, and troubleshooting. Strong interpersonal and technical communication skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional engineering teams. Preferred Qualifications AWS and/or Azure Associate- or Professional-level certifications in DevOps, Development, or Architecture. Experience with AWS firewall and network configuration . Experience with Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure and Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates. Experience working with NVIDIA GPUs for AI/ML use cases, particularly from a cybersecurity, governance, or infrastructure perspective. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure, connectivity, deployment, and application issues. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Key Responsibilities Support the design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of cloud-based software systems and applications. Work with digital engineering teams to build, test, and deploy solutions to AWS cloud environments. Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and YAML. Design, deploy, and manage AWS infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and CloudFormation. Manage and administer AWS IAM , including access, permissions, and security configurations. Troubleshoot client-to-cloud connectivity and infrastructure-related issues. Support AWS MLOps and AI environments, including SageMaker, Bedrock, ECS/EKS, and related services. Assist engineering teams with cloud infrastructure, deployment automation, and CI/CD requirements. Configure and troubleshoot AWS networking and firewall components. Work independently on complex infrastructure and application components supporting multiple systems or applications. Identify and resolve complex technical and application issues, including occasional off-shift or weekend support when required. Collaborate with end users and internal customers to support application development, debugging, testing, interoperability, accuracy, and completeness. Participate in integrated testing and customer acceptance testing, ensuring quality and timely delivery. Maintain high standards for software and infrastructure quality by promoting effective DevOps practices, automation, and operational standards. Identify opportunities for process improvement, scalability, reliability, and team growth. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Client management. Typical Day-to-Day Activities Manage and troubleshoot AWS IAM and access-related issues. Resolve client/cloud connectivity and infrastructure issues. Develop and maintain GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines. Build and deploy AWS infrastructure using CloudFormation. Collaborate with engineering teams on Infrastructure as Code initiatives. Support AWS MLOps and AI workloads. Troubleshoot deployment, networking, security, and cloud infrastructure issues. Participate in regular DevOps team stand-ups and provide support to assigned digital engineering teams. Team Interaction The DevOps Engineer will participate in regular internal DevOps team stand-ups and will be assigned to support specific digital engineering teams. The engineer will serve as a key point of contact between the DevOps team and the engineering teams for cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, deployment, and troubleshooting needs. Soft Skills Strong interpersonal and technical communication skills. Excellent verbal and written communication. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to troubleshoot issues independently. Strong collaboration skills and ability to work effectively in a cross-functional environment. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work with minimal supervision. Proactive mindset with a focus on scalability, reliability, and continuous improvement.
