Title : Network Engineer (Infoblox/IPAM) Location : Hartford, CT (Onsite) Job Type : Contract-to-Hire (12 months) Compensation : $58 to $63 per hour W2 Industry: Insurance & Financial Services Required Skills Infoblox DDI (NIOS/Grid), DNS (including DNSSEC), enterprise DHCP, large-scale IPAM About The Role We are seeking a Network Engineer on behalf of our client, a leading organization in the insurance and financial services industry. This role will focus primarily on managing and optimizing the enterprise on-premise network infrastructure, with growing responsibilities in cloud integration, automation, and service development. You will work closely with onsite and remote technical teams to support the reliability, security, and scalability of critical DDI services, including DNS, DHCP, and IP Address Management. Job Description The Network Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and optimizing enterprise DDI infrastructure, with a strong emphasis on Infoblox engineering experience. This role will support on-premise data centers, campus networks, hybrid cloud environments, and automation initiatives that improve service delivery and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities Include Design, implement, and manage enterprise DDI infrastructure using Infoblox solutions. Administer DNS, DHCP, and IP Address Management across on-premise data centers and campus networks. Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize DDI services to maintain high availability and performance. Perform capacity planning and support infrastructure scaling for growing network demands. Manage Infoblox appliance upgrades, patches, and scheduled maintenance windows. Implement security best practices for DDI infrastructure, including DNSSEC and access controls. Respond to and resolve DDI-related incidents, service requests, and escalations. Maintain accurate IP address allocation, subnet management, and related documentation. Support hybrid DNS architectures across on-premise and cloud environments. Assist with cloud integration efforts involving AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform. Collaborate on cloud migration projects that require DDI service extensions. Guide automation tools that streamline DDI operations. Assist with the development of self-service capabilities for common DDI requests. Support Infrastructure as Code practices for DDI configurations. Build or enhance monitoring and alerting solutions for proactive service management. Develop and maintain documentation for DDI architecture, configurations, and procedures. Collaborate with network, security, cloud, and infrastructure teams on cross-functional initiatives. Qualifications Required Qualifications: Hands-on engineering experience with Infoblox DDI solutions, including NIOS, Grid architecture, DNS, DHCP, and IPAM. Experience designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise-scale on-premise network infrastructure. Deep understanding of DNS protocols, DHCP operations, IP address management, and DNSSEC. Strong troubleshooting skills for complex network and DDI-related issues. Solid understanding of TCP/IP, subnetting, VLAN design, routing protocols, and enterprise network architecture. Experience managing Infoblox upgrades, patches, maintenance activities, and production changes. Ability to support highly available DDI services in a large enterprise environment. Experience with network monitoring, alerting, and management tools. Preferred Qualifications: Experience integrating on-premise DDI services with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform. Experience supporting hybrid DNS architectures across on-premise and cloud environments. Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code practices for network or DDI configurations. Experience developing or guiding automation efforts for DDI operations. Experience creating self-service tools or workflows for common infrastructure requests. Prior experience in a highly regulated enterprise environment, such as insurance, financial services, or related industries. Experience mentoring junior engineers or providing technical guidance across infrastructure teams.
