Company Description The Racine Unified School District (RUSD) is the fifth largest school district in Wisconsin, serving approximately 16,000 students. Role Description The HR Data and Benefits Coordinator is a full-time, on-site role based in Racine, WI. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate HR and benefits data in district systems, processing employee benefit enrollments, changes, and terminations, and supporting compliance with applicable laws and district policies. The coordinator will assist employees with benefit-related questions, including health, dental, vision, retirement plans, and leaves of absence, and will help administer FMLA and COBRA processes. Daily responsibilities include preparing reports, reconciling benefit records, liaising with vendors, and ensuring timely communication of benefits information to staff. The role works closely with the HR team, payroll, and school leaders to support a positive employee experience and efficient HR operations. Qualifications Demonstrated knowledge of employee leave regulations, including U.S. Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA). Experience in Benefits Administration and Employee Benefits coordination, including enrollments, changes, and terminations. Background in Human Resources (HR) processes, employee records management, and HR data integrity. Familiarity with COBRA administration and compliance requirements. Proficiency with HRIS or similar data systems, and strong skills in Microsoft Excel and other office applications. Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Effective written and verbal communication skills, with a customer-service orientation toward staff and stakeholders. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in a school district, public sector, or unionized environment is beneficial.
