Role: Pavement Engineer Location: Sharjah Industry: Aviation Salary: 21,000 AED Summary: Designs, evaluates, constructs and manages heavy-duty pavements. The role requires expertise in flexible and rigid pavement structures, load modeling, and strict adherence to international safety standards. Key Responsibilities: Design & Analysis: Perform structural design for flexible, rigid, and composite pavements. Pavement Evaluation: Conduct condition surveys, non-destructive testing (NDT), and load-bearing assessments to calculate Classification Number ratings. Material Selection: Specify high-performance asphalt mixtures, concrete specifications, subgrade stabilization, and base course layers suited for heavy loads and local climatic conditions. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all designs and rehabilitation strategies comply with guidelines. Project Coordination: Work alongside geotechnical, drainage, and lighting teams to align works with continuous operations. Construction: Monitor site construction, review contractor material submittals, and inspect paving execution for quality and safety compliance. Qualifications & Skills: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Master’s in Geotechnical or Pavement Engineering preferred). Experience: 5+ years of dedicated civil infrastructure experience, with at least 3 years focused specifically on pavement design, evaluation and construction. Aviation related project exposure is highly preferred. Technical Software: Proficiency in specialized pavement analysis software.
