Digital Media support engineer - NYC - 24-MONTH CONTRACT - Hybrid: 4 days onsite, Fri remote Must-Haves: 1.) Professional or educational background in broadcast support/engineering or strong potential to be molded/trained at a bare minimum 2.) Strong computer and networking knowledge 3.) Versed in the ability to plan, develop, install, and manage a variety of systems to edit and create graphics 4.) Demonstrated skills in scripting 5.) Working knowledge of active directory and group policy Nice-to-Haves: • 3 years' experience with baseband and IP video signal processing, transport, and broadcast transmission equipment • 2 years of project management experience • Troubleshooting and debugging various OS, DLL management, compatibility errors, boot issues, and application and system errors • Technical / Vocational school training or certificate or degree in Engineering, Computer or Electronic Technology • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain virtual machines and physical servers • Working knowledge of VLAN’s, Layer 2 & 3, IP addressing, route tables, and domain administration • Understanding of cloud computing terminology and infrastructure • Avid Certified Support Representative for Media Composer, Nexis, Media Central and Interplay • Working knowledge of shared storage and Asset Management systems • Demonstrated ability in configuring and troubleshooting Adobe CC • Demonstrated skills with file-based automation from vendors such as Vantage, BPM or Pulse IT • Working knowledge of virtual desktop implementations and remote workflow technologies • Demonstrated skill adapting and improving workflows using technology. Responsibilities: • Build, maintain, and support all post-production facilities for ABC News • Build, maintain, and support Evertz Magnum router system and 2110 workflows • Build, maintain, and support VOD, streaming, radio, and broadcast workflows • Develop and maintain technical solutions to create efficiencies in content acquisition and distribution • Contribute to or lead system sustainment and upgrade projects • Work closely with our Operations teams to develop workflow solutions for their business needs • Interface with vendors in troubleshooting efforts • Create “how to” documentation for users and peers • Create technical drawings
