Job Summary As a Shipboard IT (SBIT) Specialist at BPMI, you will be in a project-oriented position with primary responsibilities in deployment, fleet support, and troubleshooting of Propulsion Plant Area Network (PPLAN) servers, network, and software functional issues. This position also includes the oversight, development, and life cycle management of PPLAN servers. Essential Duties Initiate and perform assigned IT projects to address obsolescence, cybersecurity, and other technical requirements considering user feedback, field performance data, metrics and emerging issues. Provide oversight of the installation of network hardware and software products at end destinations. Provide planned and emergent fleet support and lead fielding activities in remote and on-site capacities for systems and components related to a limited aspect of the group's function. Coordinate and team with other professionals/engineers to ensure proper integration of new components and software versions, participate in technical design reviews, support logistics actions, and assist in validating, verifying, and testing procedures for assigned systems. Develop and maintain detailed documentation including procedures, system diagrams, specifications, processes, cost and schedule estimates, and configuration records in compliance with quality requirements. Initiate and perform sustainment and development tasks including planning, testing, and implementation of new or modified systems for improvements, process efficiency, and technology modernization, ensuring alignment with program goals, engineering standards, and cybersecurity requirements. Prepare technical correspondence and supporting information for Government review, providing data, recommendations, and requests for funding. Create, prepare, provide, and support regular training to end users in area of assigned cognizance. Support implementation and documentation of cybersecurity compliance with government requirements. Communicate extensively internally as well as with external customer and supplier personnel.
