Build the technology behind the teams transforming construction At XYZ Reality, we’ve created the world’s first engineering-grade Augmented Reality solution for construction. Our product, The Atom, is used on major projects worldwide to bring designs to life on-site and help teams build more accurately, efficiently and with fewer mistakes. As a Series B business scaling across the UK, US and Europe, we’re not only evolving the technology our customers use, we’re also investing in the tools and applications that enable our own teams to operate effectively as we grow. We’re looking for a Full Stack Engineer to take ownership of the internal applications, dashboards and AI-enabled tools that help power XYZ Reality behind the scenes. The Role This is a great opportunity for a Full Stack Engineer who enjoys building useful products, solving real business problems and owning what they create from idea through to production. As XYZ has grown, teams across the business have increasingly developed applications, dashboards, automations and AI-enabled tools to solve problems and improve how they work. We now need an engineer who can bring technical ownership to this space – taking promising ideas and prototypes and turning them into secure, scalable and maintainable applications. You’ll work directly with teams across XYZ to understand what they need, translate those requirements into technical solutions and build applications that people across the business will genuinely use. Because these tools can interact with employee, user and potentially customer data, you’ll also ensure they are built and deployed properly, with security, maintainability and appropriate engineering standards considered from the outset. This is a role with plenty of autonomy. You’ll own applications end-to-end, from architecture and data model through to UI, deployment, monitoring and ongoing iteration. And when internal priorities allow, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute your Full Stack skills to our wider product engineering team and the technology behind XYZ Reality’s engineering-grade AR platform. The role is based in London on a hybrid basis, ideally 2–3 days per week in the office, enabling you to work directly with the teams you’ll be building for while retaining flexibility. What You’ll Be Doing Design, build and maintain internal business applications end-to-end, from data model and architecture through to user interface. Take ownership of existing prototypes, dashboards and tools and evolve them into secure, reliable and maintainable applications. Ship quickly using modern serverless and Backend-as-a-Service platforms such as Vercel, Supabase and Firebase. Build applications using TypeScript/JavaScript, React/Next.js and Node.js. Integrate AI capabilities, including LLM APIs, automation and agents, to improve and streamline business workflows. Work directly with stakeholders across XYZ to understand problems, gather requirements and translate business needs into practical technical solutions. Own the full application lifecycle, including architecture, development, deployment, monitoring, maintenance and iteration. Ensure appropriate security and data protection standards are built into applications handling employee, user or customer information. Implement authentication, SSO and identity management where required. Champion good engineering practices across code quality, testing, security and CI/CD. Build integrations between internal systems, data sources and third-party platforms. Use feedback and usage data to continually improve the applications you build. Evaluate emerging technologies and AI capabilities and identify where they can genuinely improve how XYZ operates. Contribute to our wider product engineering environment when capacity allows. What We’re Looking For Demonstrable in-depth professional software engineering experience, ideally within a Full Stack role. Strong proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript and modern web development. Hands-on experience with React/Next.js and Node.js. Experience building and deploying applications using platforms such as Vercel, Supabase, Firebase or equivalent modern technologies. Experience owning applications beyond the initial build – including deployment, maintenance, monitoring and ongoing improvement. Comfortable integrating AI/LLM services into applications and using modern AI tooling as part of your development workflow. Experience implementing authentication and identity management, such as OAuth/OIDC, SAML or SSO. A good understanding of application security and how to appropriately handle sensitive business and user data. Strong software engineering fundamentals, with an appreciation for maintainable code, testing and good development practices. Comfortable working directly with non-technical stakeholders and turning their requirements into effective technical solutions. Able to work autonomously, prioritise effectively and take ownership of the applications you build. Experience within a startup, scale-up or modern technology environment would be particularly valuable, as would experience with Postgres/SQL, row-level security, data visualisation, reporting or workflow automation. We’re looking for a strong Full Stack Engineer with solid fundamentals who is comfortable learning new tools and making pragmatic technology choices based on the problem being solved. Above all, we’re looking for someone who enjoys building things that make a difference, an engineer who can take an idea or prototype, understand the problem behind it and turn it into technology the business can rely on. What You Could Be Working On From the outset, you could be working across projects including: Internal business applications and operational tools AI-enabled workflows and automation Business dashboards and reporting Employee and talent applications Data-driven internal tools Integrations between business platforms Secure applications handling employee, user and customer data Prototypes that need to evolve into scalable, production-ready applications As our internal technology needs continue to evolve, so will the problems you have the opportunity to solve. Why Join Us 🚀 Join a Series B business at an exciting stage of international growth 🏠 Hybrid working from our London office 🏝️ 25 days annual leave + public holidays 🩺 Private healthcare with Vitality 🎄 Additional Christmas shutdown days 🪙 Biannual salary reviews 🥳 Summer & Christmas company events 🍣 Free Thursday lunch and after-work gatherings 💰 Employee referral scheme 🚲 Cycle to Work scheme If you’re a Full Stack Engineer who enjoys taking ownership, shipping useful technology and using modern tools to solve real-world problems, we’d love to hear from you.

That number is real. WorkMundi's database shows 144,883 open engineer roles across the world. India has the most with 31,687 jobs, followed by the United States with 30,084. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.

Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.

Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.

When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
