Who You Are The Platforms team builds the foundation every other engineer at Storyblocks depends on: the pipelines that ship their code, the tooling that tells them when something breaks, and the environments they develop in. When that foundation is solid, the whole engineering org moves faster and sleeps better. This isn't a back-office infrastructure role. The work you do here shapes the daily experience of every engineer at the company. We're hiring a Platforms Engineer we're genuinely excited to invest in and grow. Maybe you've been writing application code and kept getting pulled toward the pipelines, the deploys, and the "why is this broken in prod" problems. Maybe you come from a cloud or ops background and want to own systems end to end instead of just closing tickets. Either way, if you're comfortable in AWS, you care about the experience of the engineers around you, and you want more ownership than your current role gives you, this is built for you. You'll work across CI/CD, observability, infrastructure-as-code, and local development environments in a fast-moving microservices world where resilience and scalability really matter. We'll start you on well-scoped, real problems and hand you bigger, higher-autonomy projects as fast as you can take them. This is a team that treats developer experience as a product, not an afterthought. We care a lot about learning here. The platform space moves fast, and the tools you'll master in a year probably include a few that aren't on this page yet. We want someone who stays curious, enjoys picking up new skills, and shares what they learn with the team. We also expect you to use AI to supercharge your work, not to replace your judgment. Our best engineers lean on AI to move faster and go deeper while owning the decisions and the quality of what ships. What You Will Do Build, operate, and scale AWS infrastructure that supports our microservices platform. Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines that make shipping fast, reliable, and safe. Build reusable, templated configuration (Helm charts, CircleCI orbs) so teams get consistent, standardized deployments and pipelines instead of reinventing them. Manage infrastructure through code, treating infra changes with the same rigor as application code. Improve observability and monitoring so teams can understand and debug their systems in production. Partner with product engineering teams, translating platform concepts into practical guidance and cutting friction from their day-to-day work. Make and document thoughtful technical trade-offs, and grow into leading complex platform projects end to end. What You Bring To The Table You don't need to check every box here. If you're strong in most of these and curious about the rest, we'd love to talk. You're comfortable working in AWS and know your way around its core services. You've used observability or monitoring tools (like Datadog) to understand what your systems are doing. You're handy with at least one scripting or programming language. You've worked with infrastructure-as-code such as Terraform, or you're eager to. You've helped run and scale infrastructure, and you're excited to grow into bigger, higher-traffic systems. You've built or maintained CI/CD pipelines. How You Work You care about doing right by the engineers who depend on your work, and you keep developer experience front of mind. You can explain a gnarly platform concept to someone who doesn't live in infrastructure all day. You think through trade-offs and can walk someone through your reasoning. You take ownership of your work, and you're ready to grow into leading bigger, more complex projects. You're curious and love to learn. You pick up new tools and skills on your own, and you use AI to sharpen and speed up your work. Storyblocks' engineering and company values resonate with you. Nice To Have Experience with Helm and Kubernetes (or other container orchestration), and tools like ArgoCD, Argo Rollouts, and Istio. Hands-on with CircleCI, GitHub Actions, or similar CI/CD platforms. Experience with Datadog or another APM/observability tool. Working knowledge of databases (relational or NoSQL): provisioning, tuning, or operating them. Experience designing and deploying microservices. General knowledge of security, release engineering, or QA. What We Bring To The Table Competitive and fair compensation: We believe in fair pay, meaning equal pay for equal work. For each title, we consistently apply competitive salary bands based on market data and benchmarks, reviewed twice a year. What you've been paid before, fear of conflict, or willingness to negotiate does not play a part in determining your pay. The annual base salary range for this position is $122,000 - $129,200. Placement within the range is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to: knowledge, skills, years and depth of experience, and equity with internal team members. 401(k) retirement plan: We offer both a Traditional and Roth 401(k) with a company match. Company-paid medical: Our medical, dental and vision premiums are covered 100% for you and your dependents. Paid parental leave: We support all paths to parenthood. Birthing parents receive up to 12 weeks of paid medical recovery leave plus 4 weeks of paid bonding leave (up to 16 weeks total). Non-birthing parents receive 4 weeks of paid bonding leave. Parents welcoming a child through adoption, surrogacy, or foster placement receive up to 12 weeks of paid bonding leave. Unlimited vacation: At Storyblocks we take vacation seriously. That means take the time off when you need it. Don’t worry about tracking hours or accounting for partial days. Typically, employees take about three or four weeks each year. Plus, two company-wide week breaks in July and December. Workplace benefits and perks: We are fully remote and have company and team events. Company-sponsored mentorship and growth: We encourage attending meetups and are happy to host them as well. We also have a leadership coach, on staff, available to all employees to enhance your professional development. Employee perks: We help employees maintain work-life balance and honor their contributions to the organization by offering resources such as a financial wellness program, a subscription service that offers unlimited deliveries from thousands of eligible restaurants with $0 delivery, and a recognition and rewards program that celebrates their accomplishments. Casual Work Environment: Sure we all get dressed up once in a while, but in general we want you to be comfortable at company events – whatever that means to you (flip-flops, jeans, etc.). Who We Are Storyblocks is a different kind of content company delivering a fresh approach to meet the creative needs of a new generation of storytellers. We encourage you to apply even if your experience is not a 100% match with the position. We are looking for someone with relevant skills and experience, not a checklist that exac

That number is real. WorkMundi's database shows 144,883 open engineer roles across the world. India has the most with 31,687 jobs, followed by the United States with 30,084. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.

Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.

Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.

When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
