BI Technical Lead - Remote in Ireland One of my long-term clients in Dublin are currently expanding their BI team and looking for a hands on technical lead. This will be someone to own the backbone of their data platform — pipelines, semantic models, and Power BI reporting — while mentoring the team around them. The technical hands-on element is most crucial. Mentoring and leadership is important, but the priority is finding someone who can step in as a senior technical leader for the team. What you'll do: Keep data pipelines, semantic models, and Power BI assets running at full integrity Drive strategic optimizations (Direct Lake, incremental refresh) for a lean, scalable ETL Bridge business needs and technical execution — translating logic into clear requirements Review team output, mentor on SQL/PySpark/Fabric, and champion simple over over-engineered Own cost and automation strategy across the Lakehouse What you bring: Senior-level Data Engineering + Dashboard development experience Strong SQL, Python/PySpark, SparkSQL skills Microsoft Fabric (or Azure) experience Data Modeling, ETL/ELT, DevOps, CI/CD, Git DP-700 certification required (DP-600/PL-300 a plus) Whilst hiring in Ireland is the priority, the role can potentially be hired in Spain, Italy or Poland as well.
