Senior Applied Scientist

About the Role Join Zepp Health’s US AI Lab as a Senior Applied Scientist, where you will develop next-generation AI algorithms for wearable health technologies. We are looking for a highly motivated Master's or PhD-level researcher with a strong background in machine learning and signal processing who enjoys both technical innovation and cross-functional collaboration. Beyond individual contributions, you will play a leadership role by guiding and mentoring interns and junior researchers in developing high-level algorithms and translating research ideas into production-ready solutions. Key Qualifications Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Signal Processing, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or a related field. Strong foundation in machine learning, signal processing, and AI algorithm development. Experience developing algorithms for physiological signals, wearable devices, or time-series data is highly preferred. Hands-on experience building and deploying machine learning models using Python and frameworks such as PyTorch. Experience with large language models (LLMs) for personalized health insights or intelligent coaching is a plus. Excellent proactive communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across research, engineering, and product teams. Demonstrated ability or strong interest in leading interns or junior researchers and driving algorithm projects from concept to implementation. Passion for sports science, exercise physiology, sleep science, or digital health. What You'll Do Design and develop advanced machine learning and signal processing algorithms for wearable health applications. Analyze physiological and behavioral data to generate scientific insights on exercise, recovery, sleep, and overall wellness. Leverage AI and large language models to create personalized and context-aware health recommendations. Lead the full lifecycle of algorithm development, from research and prototyping to deployment and continuous optimization. Mentor and guide interns and junior researchers, helping them develop high-level algorithms and execute research projects efficiently. Collaborate proactively with product managers, engineers, and scientists to transform research into impactful user experiences. Contribute to the long-term AI strategy and innovation roadmap of Zepp Health. Preferred Experience Industry or research experience in machine learning, signal processing, wearable computing, or digital health. Publications or demonstrated achievements in AI, physiological signal analysis, or related areas are highly valued. Experience working in multidisciplinary teams and translating research into production systems. Additional Requirements Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills. Self-driven, proactive, and capable of taking ownership of complex technical challenges. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
