GIS Database Administrator

Ltd. is a multinational IT systems integrator founded and managed by IIT graduates, with a presence in more than 16 locations across India and East Role Description: The GIS Database Administrator is a full-time, on-site role based in Kolkata. Administration and maintenance of GIS databases and spatial data repositories. Installation, configuration, and maintenance of GIS servers and database systems. Management of spatial databases such as PostgreSQL/PostGIS, Oracle Spatial, or equivalent. Performance monitoring, database optimization, and backup and recovery management. Implementation of database security policies and access control mechanisms. Publishing and management of geospatial services and spatial datasets Required Skills (Mandatory): Ability to work with GIS Applications and Enterprise GIS platforms, and to configure and support GIS solutions in production environments. Knowledge of SQL and spatial databases (e.g., Oracle Spatial, PostgreSQL/PostGIS, or similar) and familiarity with GIS tools (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS). Experience in QGIS / IGIS / PostgreSQL / PostGIS / Oracle Spatial / SQL Server Spatial. Knowledge of ArcGIS Server / GeoServer / MapServer or equivalent GIS platforms. Familiarity with OGC standards (WMS, WFS, WMTS). Working knowledge of Linux / Windows server administration. Experience and Qualifications (Mandatory): B.E. / B.Tech / MCA / M.Sc. in Computer Science / Information Technology / GIS / Geoinformatics / Geomatics or equivalent from a recognized university Minimum 2–3 years of experience in GIS database administration and geospatial system management
