Project Description Join Hiredbuddy as an entry-level Network Engineer (remote). Assist with network infrastructure, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and implement secure solutions. Full Description Hiredbuddy is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Network Engineer to join our growing IT infrastructure team. This is a fully remote, entry-level position ideal for recent graduates or individuals with 0-2 years of experience who are eager to build a career in networking. You will be responsible for assisting in the design, implementation, and maintenance of our network systems, ensuring reliable and secure connectivity across our distributed workforce. Key Responsibilities Assist in configuring, deploying, and managing network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers. Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues related to connectivity, latency, and packet loss using tools like Wireshark, SolarWinds, or similar. Support the implementation of network security measures, including VLAN segmentation, access control lists (ACLs), and VPN configurations. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure network infrastructure aligns with organizational needs and growth. Document network diagrams, configurations, and standard operating procedures. Participate in on-call rotation and respond to network incidents in a timely manner. Assist in the evaluation and deployment of new networking technologies and tools. Maintain inventory of network hardware and software licenses. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience). Foundational understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and subnetting. Familiarity with routing protocols such as OSPF or BGP is a plus. Experience with Cisco, Juniper, or Aruba networking equipment (CCNA or similar certification is advantageous). Basic knowledge of network security principles and firewall management. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills for remote collaboration. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote environment. Preferred Skills Exposure to cloud networking (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and virtual networking concepts. Experience with network automation tools like Ansible, Python, or Terraform. Understanding of VoIP and unified communications. Prior internship or lab experience in a networking environment. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.

Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully.
