Oracle Database Administrator with Exadata

Akkodis is seeking a Oracle Database Administrator with Exadata f or a Contract job with a client in Chandler, AZ(Hybrid) . Ideally looking for applicants with a solid background in the financial services industry. Rate Range: $60-65/Hr; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors. Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) with strong expertise in Oracle Exadata, Oracle Database 19c, and Oracle Enterprise Linux (OEL) . The ideal candidate will be responsible for administering, maintaining, patching, monitoring, and optimizing mission-critical Oracle database environments. This role requires hands-on experience with Exadata platforms, database patching and upgrades, production support, performance tuning, and automation through Shell scripting or Python. Key Responsibilities Administer and support Oracle Database environments, primarily Oracle 19c. Manage and maintain Oracle Exadata Database Machines. Perform database installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, and migrations. Plan and execute Release Updates (RU), Patch Set Updates (PSU), and one-off patches with minimal downtime. Administer Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, and RMAN backup/recovery solutions. Monitor database performance and proactively identify and resolve issues. Troubleshoot database, operating system, and infrastructure-related incidents. Ensure database availability, reliability, security, and recoverability. Develop and maintain automation scripts using Shell scripting and/or Python. Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and support teams to resolve production issues. Participate in on-call support and maintenance activities when required. Maintain database documentation and operational procedures. Required Skills & Experience Must-Have Skills 7+ years of Oracle DBA experience. Strong hands-on experience with Oracle Exadata . Extensive experience supporting Oracle Database 19c . Strong knowledge of Oracle Enterprise Linux (OEL) administration. Experience with Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, and RMAN. Strong expertise in database patching, upgrades, and maintenance activities. Hands-on experience with performance tuning and query optimization. Proficiency in Shell Scripting (Bash/Korn Shell) or Python . Experience supporting highly available production environments. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills Infrastructure automation using Ansible . Infrastructure as Code (IaC) experience using Terraform . Experience with database automation frameworks and DevOps practices. Knowledge of monitoring and alerting tools. Exposure to cloud platforms such as OCI, AWS, or Azure.
