Business Analyst Location: Remote — Must be local to Oklahoma. In-person attendance may be required for some on-site meetings. Duration: 5–7-year contract MGT Impact Solutions is seeking a qualified candidate to be a Business Analyst for our client. The successful candidate will be an MGT employee contracted to an MGT client. The Business Analyst role is a full-time (40 hours per week) position anticipated to support a long-term contract of approximately 5–7 years . This position is primarily remote; however, candidates must be local to Oklahoma and available to attend in-person, on-site meetings as required. WHAT YOU’LL DO The Business Analyst will work closely with business units, technical teams, product owners, developers, and other stakeholders to analyze business processes, translate business needs into actionable requirements, and support the successful design, testing, and implementation of solutions. The position will play an important role in process improvement, requirements management, quality assurance, user acceptance testing, and stakeholder communication. Key Responsibilities Process Analysis and Documentation Engage with business units to understand operational workflows, business needs, pain points, and opportunities for improvement. Interface with technical resources, including Development and IT staff, to understand technical requirements and translate information between business and technical stakeholders. Analyze and document current-state business processes using clear and structured methods, including process maps, swimlane diagrams, and workflow charts. Facilitate stakeholder discussions to define future-state processes aligned with organizational objectives and business requirements. Identify process gaps, dependencies, risks, and opportunities for increased operational efficiency. Requirements Gathering and User Story Development Gather, analyze, document, and validate business and functional requirements through collaboration with business and technical stakeholders. Translate business needs into detailed functional requirements, acceptance criteria, and Azure DevOps work items/user stories. Ensure requirements are complete, consistent, testable, traceable, and aligned with business priorities. Collaborate with product owners, developers, technical teams, and business stakeholders to refine and validate requirements. Support backlog refinement and requirements clarification throughout the development lifecycle. Testing and Quality Assurance Develop comprehensive test plans, test scripts, test cases, and step-by-step testing instructions for functional testing and user acceptance testing. Execute functional testing of user stories in Development and Test environments to validate solution accuracy, functionality, and readiness. Document identified defects, track resolution progress, and verify fixes through retesting. Coordinate, support, and/or lead user acceptance testing (UAT) sessions with business stakeholders. Work with technical teams and stakeholders to ensure identified issues are appropriately documented and resolved before implementation. Stakeholder Collaboration and Communication Serve as a liaison between business units and technical teams to promote shared understanding and alignment throughout project activities. Facilitate meetings and discussions with stakeholders to gather information, resolve questions, and support informed decision-making. Communicate project updates, risks, dependencies, and issues clearly and proactively to appropriate stakeholders. Support change management activities by contributing to training materials, process documentation, user guidance, and other implementation resources. Required Qualifications Professional experience in business analysis, process documentation, requirements gathering, or a related role. Demonstrated experience gathering and translating business needs into functional and technical requirements. Experience creating business process diagrams, process maps, swimlane diagrams, workflow documentation, or similar artifacts. Experience developing user stories, acceptance criteria, test cases, and testing documentation. Experience conducting functional testing and supporting or coordinating user acceptance testing (UAT). Familiarity with Azure DevOps or comparable work-item, requirements, or application lifecycle management tools. Ability to collaborate effectively with business stakeholders, product owners, developers, IT professionals, and other technical resources. Must be located in Oklahoma and able to attend in-person meetings as required. Preferred Qualifications Experience working on large-scale, long-term technology or business transformation initiatives. Experience supporting state, local, education, or other public-sector/government organizations. Experience working within Agile, Scrum, or similar software development methodologies. Experience supporting business process improvement and organizational change initiatives. Experience creating end-user documentation, training materials, and implementation guidance. Special Skills & Knowledge Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills. Strong requirements elicitation, analysis, and documentation capabilities. Ability to create clear, accurate, and easy-to-understand process diagrams and workflow documentation. Strong knowledge of user stories, acceptance criteria, functional requirements, and test cases. Working knowledge of Azure DevOps or similar work-item management tools. Hands-on experience with functional testing and UAT coordination. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong meeting facilitation and stakeholder-management skills. Ability to communicate effectively between business and technical audiences. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a collaborative, primarily remote environment.
