Business Systems Analyst IV (Appian Platform) Location: Charlotte, NC Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Business/Systems Analyst IV with a strong background in the Appian platform , business process management, and data analysis. This individual will serve as the liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, driving workflow automation, process optimization, and platform enhancements through Appian's low-code capabilities. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of business analysis expertise, technical acumen, and data-driven decision-making skills. This role requires close collaboration with product owners, developers, operations teams, Salesforce teams, and data engineering partners to deliver scalable business solutions. Key Responsibilities Business Analysis & Requirements Management Partner with stakeholders across Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Technology to gather and document business requirements. Translate business needs into functional requirements, user stories, process documentation, and acceptance criteria. Lead workshops, stakeholder meetings, backlog grooming sessions, and sprint planning activities. Conduct current-state and future-state assessments and perform gap analyses. Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) planning, execution, and defect resolution. Maintain business process documentation, workflows, and system artifacts. Appian & Low-Code Platform Support Collaborate with Appian development teams to design and enhance workflows, business rules, and process models. Evaluate platform capabilities and recommend solutions aligned with business objectives. Help establish platform governance, standards, naming conventions, and best practices. Manage application support activities, platform enhancements, user provisioning, and access controls. Monitor Appian releases and leverage new platform features to improve business processes. Document platform architecture, deployment procedures, and integration patterns. Data Analysis & Integration Analyze data flows across Appian, Salesforce, and third-party applications. Create and optimize SQL queries to support reporting, validation, and data analysis efforts. Develop data mappings, schemas, and entity relationships to support business applications. Support ETL processes, data integrations, and migration initiatives. Perform data profiling, quality assessments, and root-cause analysis of data issues. Work with data engineering teams on enrichment strategies, lead scoring, and operational reporting. Translate complex data findings into actionable business recommendations. Support API integration efforts through documentation of payload mappings and system interactions. Required Qualifications 3+ years of experience as a Technical Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, or similar role. 2+ years of hands-on Appian experience, including: Process Modeling Records Reports Integrations Strong understanding of Business Process Management (BPM) and workflow automation. Experience writing: User Stories Functional Requirements Acceptance Criteria Strong requirements gathering and stakeholder management skills. Experience with: SQL Data Modeling Data Mapping ETL Concepts Ability to analyze large datasets and present business recommendations. Experience working within Agile/Scrum environments. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Experience with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Visio, or similar platforms. Preferred Qualifications Appian Certified Business Analyst or Associate Developer Certification. Experience integrating Appian with Salesforce and other CRM platforms. Understanding of cloud data platforms and data warehousing concepts. Experience with: REST APIs SOAP Services Data Enrichment Processes Familiarity with UX/UI design principles and wireframing tools such as Figma or Sketch. Background supporting Sales Operations, Marketing Operations, or Demand Generation teams. Knowledge of SSO, Identity Management, and Enterprise Security concepts.
