We're looking for an Engineer I - IBM iSeries / Power Systems to join our IT Infrastructure team in Las Vegas. In this role, you'll help support and maintain mission‑critical IBM i (AS/400) and Power Systems environments that keep our client's business applications running smoothly. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with early hands‑on IBM i experience who wants to grow their career in enterprise systems administration within a highly regulated, fast‑paced environment. Successful candidates excel at and enjoy: Administer, maintain, and support IBM iSeries / Power Systems hardware and software Troubleshoot and resolve system issues related to hardware, software, access, and performance Monitor system performance, file systems, shares, and permissions Respond to and manage incidents and service requests through the Help Desk ticketing system Your previous experience includes: At least 2 years of experience administering IBM iSeries / Power Systems IBM technical certifications (IBM i / System Administration 7.1+ or similar Plan and implement system upgrades, patches (PTFs), and repairs At least 1 year of experience with IBM i utilities and tools such as: IBM Client Access IBM Navigator / Director BRMS (Backup, Recovery, and Media Services) Security and auditing tools (iSecurity, Help Systems, absMessage, or similar) Salary : $70-$80k Does this sound like the job for you? If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.
Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.
When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one.
