Location: Singapore, SG Requisition ID: 1577 Position Overview Lead Structure Engineer leads and controls Structure engineering activities mainly for Topside facilities in FPSO/FLNG or Offshore facilities. Lead Structure Engineer develops corporate technical standards/procedures, work flow, engineering platform (e.g. Structure design data integration) and keep them updated, integral, practical and fit to purpose with incorporating Project Lessons Learnt. Lead Structure Engineer assist Head of Discipline for managing a corporate organization and mentors Structure Engineers in the Discipline. Lead Structure Engineer conducts technical validation and quality assurance (input/output data accuracy, technical appropriateness, consistency, practicality, code, optimum solution and regulatory compliance), provides technical advices or takes a lead as Project Discipline Lead - Topside Structure in executing Feasibility /Conceptual Study/Pre-FEED/FEED, EPCI Engineering for FPSO/FLNG or Offshore facilities projects. Lead Structure Engineer shall be able to analyze to identify optimal solution and communicate these solutions through technical reports. This role may be require frequent travel to the Europe, and Asia. The ideal candidate of the position will have a strong background in Offshore Oil & Gas Industry, be an expert in Topsides Structure Engineering, and provide strategic focus in the Topsides Structure Engineering for Conceptual/pre-FEED/FEED/EPC(I) projects of FPSO, FLNG or offshore facilities. The strategic focus will also include providing support to Hanwha Ocean engineering teams based in Korea/Singapore/India and elsewhere as necessary including Conceptual, pre-FEED and FEED for projects in the offshore area in the future. Responsibilities Corporate, General Develop Corporate Technical Standards and Procedures for Topside Structure Develop Topside Engineering Workflow and Engineering Platform Assist Topside Structure Head of Discipline to manage corporate organization Update and Maintain EPCI and O & M Phase Lesson Learnt database Proposal/Pre-award Phase Conduct Conceptual/Feesibility Study to propose the optimum & conpetitive technical solution. Ensure all engineering documents are prepared and developed in accordance with relevant design code, standard and client’s project specification. Provide engineering expertise and support to form the optimum and competitive proposals Ensure Structure and utility system are optimized, efficient, safe and environmentally compliant. Provide engineering review and support for bid proposal including estimate of manhour and cost. Feasibility Study/Pre-FEED/FEED/EPCI Phase Phase Take a Project Discipline Lead or Advisor role to manage projects Become a focal point for Topside Structure Discipline in Project Team and Communicate with Clients Raise Technical Queries towards the clinent's project documents, Design basis to ensure all scope of works and design basis are clarified. Manage interface with all relevant discipline to get necessary information for Structure engineering or to provide data to other discipline for their engineering Manage Project Discipline Team (Topside Structure) - manning and schedule control Mentor junior or less-experienced Structure engineers Attend project meeting internally and externally (with clients, third party, sub-contractor) and generate MOM Report Area of Concerns, Progress and Plan to Project management team and Corporate Head of Discipline Ensure Compliance with regulatory requirements Develop Project Design Philosophies, Standards, Procedure Conduct feasibility studies, Pre-FEED, FEED, FEED Verification (Inceptionof EPCI Phase) and EPCI phase Engineering Develop Structure calculations, studies and deliverables (Local or Global Structure Strength Analysis, Fatigue Analysis etc) Participation in Various Workshop (Material Handling Study, 3D Model Review, Constructability Study) Close out comment/punches/recommendation from HAZOP, Vendor HAZOP, HAZID, SIL, 3D Model, Constructability Review and etc. Review Vendor Documents - Structure Deliverables such as Framing Plan, SACS Model etc Conduct contract Structure for 3rd party consultants - e.g. Module Support Structure (MSS) FEA Analysis, Module Structure Fire Analysis (Linear/Non-Linear), Structure Vibration/Pulsation Analysis, Blast Analysis etc. Manage 3rd Party workscope and review/comment/approve of 3rd Party’s output - e.g. Module Support Structure (MSS) FEA Analysis, Module Structure Fire Analysis (Linear/Non-Linear), Structure Vibration/Pulsation Analysis, Blast Analysis etc. Supervise sub-contractor in veiw of design and deliverable quality and project schedule Review sub-contractor's deliverables and Validate design and deliverable technical qualities Implement Management of Change to ensure all design change to be incorporated in As-built. Provide engineering support for construction, commissioning and operation team Provide engineering expertise for decision making to resolve Structure related issue Ensure as-built Structure deliverables Operation & Maintenance Phase Support Operation and Maintenance Team Conduct Troubleshooting and provide optimum technical solution Conduct Structure engineering in facility modification, revamp studies Requirements Minimum Bachelor Degree or Master Degree in Structure or relevant Engineering Minimum 15 years experience in the offshore or onshore oil and gas industry Minimum consecutive 7 years experience at top-tier FPSO contractor or Offshore/Onshore EPC contractor (minimum 7 continuous years working experience in the same contractor) Minimum 1 FPSO EPCI Project experience from the begining of project (engineering) until the sail-away to site or delivery of FPSO Minimum 1 FPSO FEED/EPCI Project experience as a Project Lead - Topside Structure including Topsides Structure Conceptual / Feasibility Studies Hands-on Structure engineering experience in FPSO or Offshore EPCI projects, especially Topside Structure Design Basis, SACS Modeling (Strength, Fatigue), and Supervision of Topside Detail Engineering etc. Hands-on Field Engineering in Construction phase is value-added. Well Versed with Structure Engineering Tool such as SACS Extensive knowledge of Structure engineering practices, principles, industry codes and standards - as well as an understanding of scientific methods of problem-solving. Very strong leadership skills with ability to manage multiple priorities Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
