The Role Our client is a well-established global organisation operating within the financial services sector. What you'll do Design, develop and maintain Business Intelligence solutions, data models, dataflows and datamarts within an Azure-based data platform. Translate business requirements into scalable data and reporting solutions that deliver meaningful insights and support decision-making. Develop and optimise ETL processes, ensuring data quality, integrity and efficient integration from multiple source systems. Collaborate with global data teams and stakeholders to monitor delivery progress, resolve issues and support successful project outcomes. Plan, execute and support system testing activities to ensure solutions meet business and technical requirements. Drive continuous improvement through process optimisation, documentation, change delivery and ongoing support of data solutions. What you bring Minimum of 5 years' experience in Power BI development, Business Intelligence delivery and data modelling, with advanced knowledge of DAX. Strong experience working with Azure Databricks, Azure Data Lake and Azure-based data platforms. Proven expertise in SQL, Oracle databases, ETL development, data integration and data modelling. Experience delivering enterprise-scale or Big Data solutions, including translating business requirements into technical solutions. Experience with Azure DevOps, CI/CD deployment practices and Agile development methodologies. Previous experience within the insurance or financial services sector, with Azure certifications (or willingness to obtain Azure Fundamentals and Azure Databricks certifications by year-end) highly desirable. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.
Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.
When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
