Junior AI Business Analyst Full-time | Remote (South Africa) | EST hours I'm hiring for a New York fintech investment firm — late-stage growth equity and secondaries, small team, moves fast. They want a junior analyst who is genuinely fluent with AI: finance brain first, AI as the multiplier. THE ROLE You'll pull together financial analysis, own the CRM, and handle the data work a small investment team generates constantly: research, comparables, data pulls, materials for meetings. The analysis is the job. AI is how you get through three times as much of it as a traditional junior analyst would. You'll work alongside an Executive Assistant who handles scheduling and admin. That's the split: they keep the diary and inbox moving, you own the numbers and the data. What matters is that you can read financial statements, you're rigorous with data, and you reach for AI instinctively to do in twenty minutes what used to take a morning. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING Financial analysis: comparables, valuation context, company and market analysis on live investment work Financial data pulls: sourcing and reconciling data from filings, providers and portfolio reporting Owning the CRM: keeping deal flow, shareholder and advisor data accurate, and automating the upkeep AI-powered research: summarising documents, extracting data from unstructured sources, screening deal flow Reporting and meeting materials that go in front of investors, founders and advisors WHAT YOU NEED 1–3 years in finance or business analysis: IB, PE, VC, corporate finance, transaction services, FP&A, audit or articles. Strong finance, accounting or economics grads with real analytical experience considered Genuine financial literacy: you can read financial statements and build a model that holds together Advanced Excel or Google Sheets on messy, raw data Real AI fluency: you use ChatGPT, Claude or Copilot daily and can point to specific work where AI changed how long something took Data discipline: a confident wrong answer is worse than a slow one here CRM experience (Affinity, HubSpot, Salesforce or similar) Bonus: fintech exposure, SQL or Python for data work (not required), automation tooling, BI dashboards, CFA or CA(SA) in progress. ABOUT THE HOURS This role runs on EST; roughly 15:00 to 23:00 SAST, shifting an hour when the US changes clocks. If that doesn't work for your life, this isn't the right role, and that's completely fine. Please don't apply hoping it will flex. WHY IT'S WORTH A LOOK Full-time and permanent. Direct exposure to live deals from a small team rather than three layers down, real ownership of the firm's analysis and data, and a seat where being good with AI is rewarded rather than tolerated.
