Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role for a Medical Officer and Counsellor for the Surgical Department, based in Ludhiana. The role involves conducting clinical assessments, supporting pre- and post-operative care, and coordinating with surgeons and other physicians to ensure accurate treatment plans. The Medical Officer will provide patient and family counselling on surgical procedures, risks, post-operative care, and recovery expectations, ensuring clear, empathetic communication. Daily responsibilities include monitoring patient progress, maintaining medical records, assisting in training junior staff, and adhering to hospital protocols and clinical guidelines. The role also requires active participation in multidisciplinary meetings and contribution to quality improvement initiatives within the surgical department. Qualifications Strong ability to manage patients in a surgical setting. Demonstrated skills in Patient Care, including pre- and post-operative support and counselling. Experience Working with Surgeons and other healthcare professionals in a collaborative environment. Ability to provide Training and guidance to junior medical staff or trainees. Recognized medical degree (MBBS or BDS or BMS equivalent) and relevant registration with the appropriate medical council. Prior experience in a surgical or acute-care department is preferred. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-focused approach. Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment and follow hospital protocols and safety standards.
