WordPress Developer / Web Designer Education Web Solutions (EWS) is looking for a WordPress Developer with a good eye for design to join our Adelaide team. We specialise in creating websites and digital solutions for schools across Australia. Our team works across website development, design, photography, video and digital content, helping schools create an online presence that genuinely reflects their community. About the role This is a full-time hybrid role based in Adelaide, SA . You will primarily be building, updating and improving WordPress websites for schools. We are looking for someone who is technically confident in WordPress but also cares about how a website looks and feels . You do not need to be a qualified graphic designer. If you are a strong WordPress developer with an interest in design and are willing to learn, we would love to hear from you. What you will be doing Building and developing WordPress websites Turning approved website designs into responsive websites Creating and improving page layouts Making sure websites look great across desktop, tablet and mobile Working with our designers to bring concepts to life Updating and maintaining existing school websites Troubleshooting WordPress issues Working with CSS and HTML where required Improving website performance and usability Adding new functionality and integrations Working across multiple school website projects Helping continuously improve the quality of the websites we produce What we are looking for Ideally, you will have: Strong WordPress experience Good knowledge of HTML and CSS Experience building responsive websites A good understanding of spacing, typography, imagery and page layout An eye for detail The ability to look at a website and recognise when something could be presented better Good problem-solving skills The ability to manage multiple projects and tasks A willingness to learn and develop your design skills Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team Experience with Divi is highly regarded , although we are happy to train the right person. Experience with UI/UX, graphic design, Adobe Creative Cloud, Figma or similar tools would also be a bonus, but is not essential. The person we are looking for We are probably not looking for a traditional back-end developer who simply wants to write code all day . We are looking for someone who enjoys the visual side of web development as well. You might already have a strong eye for design, or you might be a developer who wants the opportunity to develop those skills further. More than anything, we want someone who takes pride in their work and enjoys creating websites that are clean, modern, easy to use and visually engaging . About EWS Education Web Solutions works exclusively within the education sector. We work with hundreds of schools across Australia, from small primary schools and kindergartens through to large secondary colleges and independent schools. You will be joining a growing team of developers, designers, photographers, videographers and digital specialists who genuinely enjoy creating great work for schools.
