Events Technical Support Technician

Position: Technical Support Technician (Hardware & Application Support) - 1099 contractor Location: On-site in Queens, NYC (Major Sporting Event) Pay: $25.00/hr Contract Duration: Immediate start through mid September 2025 Schedule: 6–7 days per week commitment About the Role: In this role, you’ll join an established support team for a production environment of approximately 30 users —supporting their hardware, applications, and operational technology during critical event execution. You'll troubleshoot systems, maintain performance, and ensure zero downtime across key workflows. This is a client-facing, high-trust position that requires confidence, clear communication, and sharp technical instincts. You’ll be working hands-on in an expansive, high-traffic campus environment, often under time-sensitive conditions. Compensated at $25 per hour. Additional compensation provided in the form of a daily meal credit for use during the event. OT available. Responsibilities: Provide hands-on support for laptops, desktops, and applications Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain various hardware and peripherals Support scanning and access control equipment (e.g., ticket scanning, credentialing devices) Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to technical writing needs Deliver exceptional support in a white-glove, client-facing environment Required Skills & Experience: 2+ years of technical support experience (this is not an entry-level role) Strong hardware troubleshooting and configuration skills Excellent verbal and written communication abilities Ability to work independently while following established protocols Comfortable interfacing between non-technical users and technical teams Coachable, proactive, and adaptable under pressure Preferred Qualifications: Experience with scanning/access control hardware and thermal printers Familiarity with enterprise-level applications and support workflows Technical documentation or writing experience Previous event-based or large-scale operations support a plus Work Environment & Requirements: Back of house AND public facing role requiring professionalism, composure, and polished communication Must be able to lift and transport moderate-weight equipment Expect fast-paced, hands-on work across a 40+ acre campus and other nearby locations in support of the event. This position requires high availability, operates 7 days a week , and requires a firm commitment through mid-September This position is a contractor role. You will invoice for your services, and will have a 1099 contractor status for the duration of this assignment.
