Role Description As a Receptionist at Compass Group Australia, you will be the first point of contact for visitors, clients, and team members at our Canberra location. This full-time, on-site role involves greeting and directing guests, answering and routing phone calls, and managing incoming and outgoing mail. You will maintain a professional and welcoming reception area, schedule appointments and meeting rooms, and provide administrative support such as data entry, document preparation, and filing. The Receptionist will collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth daily operations and uphold Compass Group Australia’s standards of service and professionalism. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong customer service skills, including professional phone etiquette, a welcoming manner, and the ability to build rapport with diverse visitors and team members. Candidates should possess administrative and organizational skills, such as scheduling, data entry, document management, and basic office coordination. Candidates should possess communication skills, including clear verbal communication, concise email writing, and active listening to understand and respond to requests. Candidates should possess time management and multitasking abilities, with capacity to handle multiple inquiries, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a busy environment. Candidates should possess basic digital literacy, including familiarity with office software (e.g., email, calendars, word processing, spreadsheets) and telephone systems. Previous experience in a reception, front desk, or customer-facing role is beneficial, as is experience in hospitality, facilities, or corporate services. A professional demeanor, reliability, attention to detail, and commitment to confidentiality and respectful workplace conduct are essential. A high school diploma or equivalent is required; further training or certifications in administration, customer service, or office support are an advantage.
