We are seeking an experienced Senior Java Developer to join our team in Montreal. This role is ideal for a hands-on developer with strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, REST APIs, and Microservices . The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing scalable enterprise applications and event-driven solutions in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade applications using Java and Spring Boot. Build scalable, secure, and high-performing REST APIs and Microservices. Design and implement event-driven architectures using Apache Kafka. Collaborate with architects, business stakeholders, and development teams to deliver high-quality solutions. Participate in application design, code reviews, and technical discussions. Ensure application performance, reliability, scalability, and security. Troubleshoot complex technical issues in distributed systems and production environments. Contribute to best practices, architecture standards, and continuous improvement initiatives. Required Qualifications Java / Spring Boot 10+ years of enterprise Java development experience. Strong expertise in Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, Spring Framework, and enterprise application development. Experience designing scalable, secure, and maintainable applications. Strong understanding of object-oriented design principles and software development best practices. Kafka / Event-Driven Architecture Strong hands-on experience with Apache Kafka. Experience designing and implementing event-driven solutions. Knowledge of asynchronous messaging patterns and distributed systems. Experience building resilient, highly available applications. REST APIs & Microservices Strong experience developing RESTful APIs and Microservices. Experience with API design, versioning, security, and system integration. Strong understanding of Microservices architecture patterns and best practices. Experience working in distributed application environments. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Docker and Kubernetes. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices. Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases. Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. What We're Looking For Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
