Who We Are Seeking We are looking for an experienced Microsoft Fabric Cloud Platform Engineer to spearhead the setup and day-to-day operation of our enterprise Microsoft Fabric environment. The role will primarily be responsible for constructing a robust, adaptable, and automated cloud base that empowers our data and analytics units to execute their tasks efficiently. The engineer will collaborate extensively with the Cloud Architecture, Data Engineering, Security, and DevOps departments to define technical benchmarks, automate infrastructure, manage environments, ensure robust security, implement CI/CD pipelines, and streamline operational workflows. Your Role and Responsibilities Design, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure on Azure utilizing Terraform modules and automation to make Fabric deployments consistent and repeatable; Design and implement the Microsoft Fabric platform foundation, including Fabric capacities, Workspaces, OneLake, environment structure and platform configuration Establish appropriate environments and deployment patterns. Establish automated deployment and configuration processes for Fabric. Integrate Fabric deployments into existing engineering standards utilizing Git-based source control and CI/CD, including Azure DevOps and/or GitHub. Implement Microsoft Entra ID, Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), security, and access controls. Integrate Fabric with the wider Azure platform and supporting services. Work within existing governance, security, and operational standards, applying these to the Fabric platform and identifying gaps. Support monitoring, logging, capacity management, and platform operations. Work with Data Engineering teams to enable their workloads, remove platform blockers, and provide technical guidance around Fabric platform architecture and engineering decisions. Produce platform documentation, standards, and operational runbooks, and transfer knowledge to the Cloud Engineering team. Implement security practices in cloud infrastructure, ensuring compliance with standards and regulations. Ensure high availability and scalability of cloud services; Essential Qualifications Solid experience with Microsoft Azure and its services (Azure VMs, Azure App Services, Azure Functions, etc.); Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric and a deep comprehension of its core structural concepts; Proven ability to set up and configure OneLake, workspaces, and capacities within Fabric; Proficiency in Terraform for infrastructure as code; Deep knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, preferably Azure DevOps and/or GitHub; Skilled in deploying cloud security measures, including RBAC and Microsoft Entra ID; Capable of architecting and overseeing Microsoft Fabric deployments across development, testing, and production stages, taking into account rollouts, security protocols, workspaces, and capacity limits; Strong understanding of security practices, cloud networking in cloud infrastructure, ensuring compliance with standards and regulations Experience automating cloud platforms using PowerShell and/or Python; Experience working in enterprise cloud environments; Clear understanding of data platform architectures and the ways in which data processing tasks utilize cloud resources. Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills; Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment; Advanced English, both spoken and written. Desirable Qualifications Experience in building Microsoft Fabric infrastructures entirely from scratch; Familiarity with Fabric REST APIs to drive automation within the Fabric ecosystem; Integration knowledge of connecting Microsoft Fabric with other tools and services in the broader Azure portfolio; Hands on experience of how to integrate Microsoft Fabric with other tools and services within the broader Azure portfolio; Background in configuring and assisting with data intake tasks via Fabric notebooks, alongside a solid grasp of their deployment and operational mechanics; Competence in FinOps practices, specifically focusing on maximizing capacity efficiency and managing cloud resources; History of cross-functional collaboration involving Cloud Engineering, Data Engineering, Security and Architecture teams Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related field, and 10 years of equivalent professional experience; Microsoft Azure certifications (Azure Administrator, Azure DevOps Engineer); Experience with agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban); Experience working with international, cross-functional, and remote teams; Excellent written and oral communication skills. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.
Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.
When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
