We are looking for a Tunnel Engineer to join our UAE team, supporting the design and technical delivery of tunnel and underground infrastructure for major Rail & Metro projects. If you have strong railway tunnel design experience, enjoy working in multidisciplinary engineering environments, and want to develop your career within an international engineering consultancy, we would like to hear from you. Key Job Responsibilities: Support the design and development of railway tunnels and underground infrastructure across concept, preliminary, detailed, and IFC design stages. Prepare and develop tunnel drawings, calculations, technical reports, specifications, and other engineering documentation. Support the design of railway tunnels, tunnel portals, shafts, cross passages, emergency access structures, and associated underground infrastructure. Support tunnel engineering calculations, structural assessments, excavation and lining design, and other relevant engineering analyses. Coordinate tunnel designs with Civil, Structural, Geotechnical, Track, MEP, Systems, Architecture, and other multidisciplinary engineering teams. Review geotechnical and geological information and incorporate relevant requirements into tunnel design solutions. Support the design and coordination of tunnel alignment, lining systems, waterproofing, drainage, and other tunnel-related elements. Participate in multidisciplinary design reviews, technical workshops, constructability reviews, and design coordination meetings. Support the resolution of technical design issues and multidisciplinary coordination conflicts. Review relevant technical submissions, design proposals, RFIs, and engineering documentation where required. Ensure tunnel design deliverables comply with project requirements, applicable railway standards, and Sener quality procedures. Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Structural Engineering, Tunnel Engineering, or a related discipline. 4–8 years of engineering experience. Mandatory Rail & Metro experience. Proven experience in the design of railway tunnels or underground infrastructure. Experience delivering tunnel designs across concept, preliminary, detailed, and IFC design stages. Knowledge of tunnel engineering principles, including tunnel alignment, excavation, lining, waterproofing, drainage, portals, shafts, and cross passages. Experience preparing tunnel calculations, drawings, technical reports, specifications, and engineering documentation. Experience coordinating tunnel designs with multidisciplinary engineering teams. Proficiency in AutoCAD; experience with Civil 3D, MicroStation, Open Roads, BIM/Revit, or equivalent is an advantage. Strong understanding of applicable railway, tunnel, structural, and civil engineering standards. Excellent communication, coordination, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with international engineering consultancies. Experience on large-scale Rail & Metro projects involving tunnels and underground infrastructure. Experience with BIM-enabled tunnel design and digital engineering workflows. Familiarity with GCC railway, tunnel, and infrastructure standards is an advantage. Experience supporting technical queries, design changes, and technical reviews during later project stages is an advantage. Why Join Sener?
